We had an amazing day today!
We gave 3 meaningful showers and had some great conversations.
Home Ministries was there and gave 3 salon quality haircuts to some beautiful men!!
WSDCA Thrift Store gave out $5 clothing vouchers to our guests which allowed them to purchase some clothing.
We ask our guests to not buy socks or underwear there..... buy another shirt or pair of jeans.... we have more socks to give!!
We couldn't do this without your support!
We dang sure couldn't do it without the amazing volunteers.
We are thankful for the opportunity to use a little bit of a parking lot to be able to... "wash feet".
Come and shower.
Come and visit.
Come and bring a treat.
Come and bring a pack of underwear!!
All sexes and sizes are needed!!

Home ministries will not be doing haircuts at the showers Tuesday the 28th, but we will resume haircuts on Thursday at Knollwood Heights United Methodist Church this Thursday!

We have showers this week!!
We hope to shower you with love!
Tuesday at Breadroot Natural Foods Co-op from 10-12
Thursday at Knollwood Heights United Methodist Church 9-11.
If you want to volunteer or bring a treat..... just show up before start time!!
We usually set up about 15 minutes before!!

This week, we were contacted by a family that needed help, getting through the next week until dad's paycheck came through.

They are living in their car with mom, dad and 3 kids.

If you have never been in this position, try to imagine how difficult a situation this would be.

Because of this community's generous donations to our church, we were able to provide food, fuel, a tent, a cooler, and books for the kids.

Being able to serve the community in this way has been a dream for us at Home Ministries.

This family is our first outreach to the community, besides our free haircuts and spiritual service.

We are so thankful to be in this position.

The mom let me know Friday that she is now employed, with hours opposite her husband's schedule, so they never have to worry about daycare for their little ones.

They are looking forward to getting their new place and feel relief, finally.

The purpose of this post is to thank all of you that do not view your neighbors as separate from yourselves.

This is what our brother, Jesus, asked of us, and I am so proud of our community for bringing pieces of heaven down to earth.

You all are beautiful in heart and spirit.

Unfortunately, Home Ministries will not be at the bandshell for haircuts this afternoon.

We strive to show up as often as possible for this community, but sometimes there are difficulties.

We love you and we will see you soon!

Happy Wednesday!!
So, we decided to take this week off because most of the regular volunteers were busy this week.
We need (ok "i"!!) need to do better at training.
The shower trailer is very easy to get running once you've been shown a time or two!
We appreciate your support and if you want to volunteer, all you need to do is show up to an event!!
We'd love to see you.
We'd love to have any of you learn how it works.
We'd love..... to have you hug people you wouldn't typically hug!!
Please offer all this support after this week too!!
We need you..... and who knows.... we might even be able to expand dates and services!!!!

We got 3 haircuts in at The Nest and are really looking forward to attending the next one, the 3rd Tuesday of August.

This community event is always wonderful.
