Project: Restoring the Baseball Fields at White Pass Elementary
Our Baseball President Daniel Marine is working hard to restore the baseball fields at White Pass Elementary. He would like to sincerely thank the volunteers who have generously given their time and effort to bring these fields back into use so our players have the space and facilities they deserve: James Coots, Chase Buffington, Tom Bilodeau, Rod Buffington, Bill McMahan, Katrin Marine, Willie Bloomstrom and Austin Brewer.
Between Morton and White Pass, we typically have nine to ten baseball teams and two to three fast-pitch teams each season. Currently, nearly all teams rely on the Glenoma Ball Park, which has only three fields. Morton has one additional field, and White Pass has one fast-pitch field. In total, we are attempting to accommodate practices and games for approximately eleven teams across a very limited number of fields.
This creates significant scheduling challenges, reduced practice time, two teams practicing together on one field and forces some teams to practice on open grass areas that are not suited for skill development. Our athletes deserve safe, dedicated spaces where they can build confidence, sharpen their abilities, and enjoy the game.
We are proud to share that progress is already underway at White Pass. One field is nearly ready to host games, though it still requires bleachers. The second field requires bases, a dugout and bleachers. Both fields need ongoing maintenance to keep the grass managed and the fields playable. In addition, electrical power is still needed so teams that use pitching machines can fully utilize the facilities.
Restoring these fields is about more than scheduling logistics. It is about strengthening our community. Because Randle serves as a central point within the White Pass School District, these fields will benefit families across the entire district, providing a convenient and welcoming place for practices, games, and community gatherings.
If you would like to support our youth and help bring these fields fully back to life, we welcome your involvement. Please reach out to learn more about our next scheduled field work day.
Together, we can ensure that our children have the facilities they need — and deserve — to play, grow, and thrive.
