The Frostys

The Frostys The Frostys bring the joy of childhood to Memory Care Communities - one sing-along at a time.

No stress. Just vibes. And the sweetest morning at the library. šŸŽ¶

Our Frostys popped up at the library on a perfect San Diego morning — Frosty Mentors side by side with their Frosty Buddies, neighbors, friends and a few adorable new faces who wandered in and joined the fun. Together they spent the morning making handmade Cheer Cards for seniors living with dementia. Pure summer joy sealed into every card and dropped into the red mailbox one by one.

This is what community looks like. šŸ’œ

The best kind of summer plans — the ones that make someone’s day.

This Mother’s Day, the Alzheimer's Association San Diego/Imperial Chapter honors the extraordinary women whose love and strength shape our lives in profound and lasting ways.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans living with Alzheimer’s are women, and women also make up most family caregivers. They are mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters and friends whose love continues to guide their families, even as memories begin to change.

At last week’s Brilliance Gala, attendees were introduced to Wendy Guscette and her mom, Joyce. It was a beautiful and heartfelt reminder that while Alzheimer’s may change many things, it cannot erase the bonds of love, the music of memory, or the lasting impact of a mother’s presence in our lives.

This Mother’s Day, we honor every woman and every caregiver impacted by Alzheimer’s. Your strength inspires hope. Your compassion brings comfort. Your love endures.

And thank you again Wendy Guscette and The Frostys for sharing your journey.

This Mother’s Day, we’re sharing the story behind our name. ā˜ƒļø

Our founders’ mom and grandma, Joyce, was a gifted pianist her whole life. But it was when Alzheimer’s disease set in that something beautiful happened - every time she sat down at the piano she’d begin with Mozart, and without fail, find her way to Frosty the Snowman. In her final season of life, that became her song - the last one she could play before the disease took that gift away too.

But in those moments at the piano, she came back to life. Music was the thread that held a mother and daughter - and granddaughters - together when words no longer could.

Joyce was a jolly happy soul who loved to spread cheer - and you could say The Frostys movement was her idea all along. šŸ’œ

This beautiful vignette was created by the and shared at their Music Meets Memory Brilliance Gala last week. We are so moved and so grateful.

To Joyce, to our moms, and to the gift of music that connects us across every season of life — Happy Mother’s Day. šŸŽµ

For Wendy and her family, music was everything.

Her mom, Joyce, was a lifelong music teacher. Music shaped her family, her identity, her life. And as Alzheimer’s progressed, it became a lifeline.

There were moments when it was hard to know if her mother was still there.

But when she sat at the piano… she came alive again.

ā€œIn that moment, we were still mother and daughter.ā€

Today, that connection lives on through The Frostys, bringing music to people living with dementia and proving that memory lives on through song.

This is Music Meets Memory. Music reaches places Alzheimer’s cannot - reconnecting love, identity, and presence.

OPENING DAY. āš¾šŸ”„

A brand-new season. A roaring crowd. The crack of the bat echoing through Petco Park…

And then — the moment we never saw coming.

Last year, the honor of singing the National Anthem for the was already a dream beyond anything we imagined. A once-in-a-lifetime memory. ✨

So when we received an invitation to come back and do it again this season… we were speechless.

Because this isn’t just about baseball.
It’s about community.
It’s about hope.
It’s about voices — young and old — coming together in one unforgettable moment. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

To the organization: thank you for believing in these kids, our mission, and the power of music.

Opening Day marks the start of something electric…
Round two. Same dream. Bigger gratitude. šŸ’œāš¾
