🐐 Say hello to the cutest restoration crew!

When invasive weeds like fennel, tumbleweed, and acacia take over our nature preserves, they crowd out native species and fuel wildfire risk. Our solution? Let the goats handle it naturally, chemical-free, and with enthusiasm only a goat could have.

Thanks to our incredible supporters, we bring in these eco-friendly grazers every year to help restore healthy habitat for native plants, birds, and wildlife!

🎊 We've been featured in the LA Times as a great hike near LA beaches! Thank you to LA Times and Jaclyn Cosgrove for sharing our beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula trails.

🌱 About the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy: With the help of our supporters, volunteers and quite a few goats, we use natural solutions to help remedy human’s historic impact on the Peninsula, restore its rare wildlife and preserve clean air, water and natural lands – all of which are needed for a healthy and resilient community. To combat the effects of urbanization, agriculture, natural disasters and the introduction of non-native plants, the Conservancy works to restore native coastal sage scrub, grassland, cactus scrub and riparian habitat to return damaged lands to a healthier condition.

The Palos Verdes blue butterfly is endemic to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County, California. It was listed as endangered in 1980, and ongoing threats to this species include habitat conversion through non-native plant invasion and ecological succession, small population size, and climate change. Together with our partners, the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy is committed to rebuilding this special butterfly's population and habitat!
