In Hawaiian, Hale Hoʻōla translates to both “House of Healing” and “Restoring Life.” Our logo features the Honu (the Sea Turtle), which represents the resilient navigator. It serves as a permanent reminder that while the journey of restoration is long, with the right protection, structured accountability, and guidance, every individual can successfully navigate their way back to a life of purpose. We honor the inherent dignity of every person by shifting the focus from “registration numbers” to the “whole person.”
Hale Hoʻōla is a Sacramento-based nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to providing safe, stable, and supportive recovery housing for individuals navigating recovery from substance use disorders and those transitioning from the justice system. We provide a clear path to restoration through secure housing, peer-led mentorship, life-skills development, and comprehensive resource navigation to promote long-term wellness and successful community reintegration.
Our Vision: The Innovation Sanctuary
Hale Hoʻōla is currently in our foundational launch phase. We are actively raising the capital required to acquire property in Sacramento County to bring our Beacon Campus vision to life. By partnering with us now, you are a foundational partner in building this path to restoration.
We envision a community where the American dream is accessible to everyone willing to work for it. Our long-term vision is to develop a specialized Innovation
Sanctuary—a master-planned community that replaces the cycle of crisis with a sustainable engine of human and economic potential. To achieve this, we have designed The Beacon Campus model, featuring a central road that serves as a physical and symbolic “Path to Restoration,” splitting the campus to ensure specialized care:
The Recovery Village (SLE): A community of independent Tiny Homes dedicated to peer-supported addiction recovery, providing residents with the dignity of their own “front door” while allowing for future village expansion.
The Reentry Center: A high-accountability facility for justice-impacted citizens, operating under strict standards for supervision, discipline, and security.
The Heart of Our Campus: The Beacon Hub
Sitting at the end of our campus road is the Beacon Hub (Vocational Hub). While campus residents fulfill a structured 32-hour weekly requirement here, the Hub is also a community-wide resource open to any local neighbor seeking to get back on their feet. It provides:
Workforce Fundamentals: Intensive training in the soft and hard skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
The Legal Bridge Clinic: A dedicated space to help individuals navigate bureaucratic red tape, restore professional licenses, and clear historic barriers to employment.
Vocational Training: Direct preparation for local industries to ensure our residents and community members are immediately ready to work.
