We are grateful to TowneBank for sponsoring this year's Crisis Intervention Team Luncheon.

Their commitment went a step further when Towne Bank volunteers came to our downtown Raleigh office to help pack gift bags and write thank-you notes for the first responders and community partners who will be honored at the event - click through to see some photos from the packing.

Partnerships like this one make a real difference for the communities we serve. We are proud to have Towne Bank alongside us!

June is Men's Mental Health Month.

Men's mental health often goes unspoken, and the cost of that silence is real. Men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women, pointing to an urgent need to end the stigma around men's mental health.

Whether you're checking in on a father, brother, friend or colleague, a simple conversation can make a difference. Breaking the stigma starts with all of us.

Today, NAMI Wake County joins communities across the country in celebrating Juneteenth, a day that honors Black history, resilience and freedom.

Juneteenth is also a reminder of the importance of equity and access to support for every member of our community. At NAMI Wake, we remain committed to creating spaces where all individuals feel supported on their mental health journey.

Have you ever wanted to do more for mental health in your community? This might be the opportunity.

We're recruiting new members to join the NAMI Wake County Board of Directors. Board members provide strategic leadership, support our fundraising work and help us reach more people across Wake County who need mental health support and education.

If that sounds like you or someone you know, we'd love to hear from you. Learn more and apply at nami-wake.org/get-involved/board-recruitment-2026.

It’s been a busy few months for NAMI Wake County, but we’re grateful for every opportunity to connect with the community through outreach events and partnerships.

Recently, we shared mental health resources at the Fuquay-Varina Police Department Mental Health Event, the First Presbyterian Church Mission Fair, the Tammy’s Promise dental care event hosted by Myers + Co Family Dentistry and the annual Mental Health and Wellness Fair hosted by Alpha Kappa Sorority and the Pearls in Partnership Foundation.

Thank you to our community partners for helping us connect more individuals and families with free mental health support, education and advocacy resources.

On May 21, NAMI Wake County joined the CARE4Youth Summit at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Government.

Executive Director Mark Simon and Wake County Public School System senior administrator in social work and mental health Tanyetta Sutton shared about our growing partnership and the work we’re doing together to support youth mental health across our community.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to share at this statewide gathering and continue meeting people where they are to expand access to mental health resources and support.

We loved seeing such a strong North Carolina presence at NAMICon 2026!

With 55 attendees from across the state, North Carolina had one of the largest delegations at this year’s conference. It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow NAMI affiliates, exchange ideas and celebrate the important mental health work happening in communities across our state.

We’re proud to be part of such a collaborative network working to expand mental health support throughout North Carolina.

At the end of May, NAMI Wake County staff members Mark Simon and Brittany Twitty attended NAMICon 2026 in Atlanta.

The conference brought together NAMI staff and mental health professionals and advocates from across the nation for several days of learning and connection. Our team attended sessions focused on youth mental health, volunteer engagement, storytelling and more.

We’re excited to bring what we learned back to our work in Wake County. See you at NAMICon 2027!
