Raleigh Area Masters Swim Team Welcome!! RAM is one of the largest adult swim programs in NC which includes competitive swimmers, triathletes, & fitness swimmers 18+ years old. Join us!

We are a USMS Masters Swim Team in the greater Raleigh Area. RAM athletes include competitive swimmers, triathletes, and fitness swimmers of all ages and skill level, and are 18 years or older. A USMS coach leads structured RAM practices seven days a week, including morning, noon, and evening practices. In the past few years, RAM athletes led the NC Masters team to the Masters long-course National

Championship. Several RAM athletes hold world records in their respective age groups, and RAM has a fistful of athletes who rank #1 in the annual US Masters tabulation of All-Americans. RAM triathletes have won overall championships and relay championships at regional events. However, it is not just the competitive athlete who benefits from RAM coaching. RAM sponsors and staffs stroke clinics for people of all ages and abilities several times yearly. In addition, RAM athletes volunteer their time as coaches for swim teams in and around Raleigh. Since RAM is a volunteer organization, RAM athletes serve countless hours of their time helping other swimmers.

Today RAM says goodbye to two incredible teammates who are moving on to new places. Sharon Taylor will be heading to Florida and Nancy Whelchel is heading to Wilmington! Both of these women have done so much for our team. Both have served on our board for multiple years. Nancy has been dedicated to organizing our volunteers. Sharon has provided amazing coaching to our Saturday group. Both women have been fierce competitors and teammates at countless meets. Their friendship and presence in and out of the pool is absolutely irreplaceable.
Their dedication, positivity, and grit have made a lasting impact on our team. We’re proud of everything they've accomplished and we're excited to see what they'll do next. Once a teammate, always a teammate—keep making waves and best of luck on your new adventures.
