| Shaw University is honored to be one of 12 UNCF-member institutions selected to receive $1 million in permanent endowment capital through The Dimon Fund to Advance Economic Opportunity.

Established through a historic $12 million gift from The James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation, the fund will strengthen the long-term sustainability of HBCUs and help build a stronger financial foundation for generations of students to come.

This investment in Shaw University supports our continued commitment to expanding opportunity, strengthening institutional excellence, and ensuring that our students have the resources they need to thrive.

Turner Jr.—a pastor, preacher, scholar, and champion of the Black Church whose ministry shaped generations of leaders through faithful preaching, theological education, and unwavering service.

Dr. Turner's commitment to developing preachers, strengthening congregations, and advancing Black Church scholarship reflects the very mission that continues to guide Shaw University Divinity School. His life reminds us that theological education is not merely about earning a degree—it is about preparing servant leaders who proclaim the Gospel, pursue justice, and transform communities through faith.

Shaw University has received approval to offer doctoral degrees and is launching the nation’s first HBCU-based Doctor of Education (EdD) in Artificial Intelligence and Moral Agency. 🎓🤖

As continues to shape healthcare, education, hiring, public policy, and more, Shaw is preparing leaders to ensure innovation is guided by ethics, accountability, and human dignity. This groundbreaking program will welcome its first cohort in Spring 2027.
