One of our favorite traditions each summer is gathering for our annual Summer Service Project—a day that brings together service, friendship, and community.

This year, members, associate members, and prospective members of the Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR partnered with Project Linus - Wake County, NC, a nonprofit organization that provides handmade blankets to children experiencing serious illness, trauma, or other difficult circumstances.

Working side by side, our volunteers created 14 no-sew fleece blankets that will be distributed to children throughout Wake County. Each blanket represents more than fabric and fleece—it is a tangible reminder that someone is thinking of them during a difficult time.

Throughout the day, members enjoyed a potluck lunch, conversation, and the opportunity to welcome prospective members while strengthening the friendships that make our chapter so special.

One of our favorite traditions each summer is coming together in service.

Last weekend, members, associate members, and prospective members of the Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR gathered for our annual Summer Service Project—a day filled with fellowship, laughter, and a shared purpose.

Together, we created 14 no-sew fleece blankets for Project Linus , providing comfort to children in Wake County facing serious illness or trauma.

Thank you to everyone who donated materials, shared their time, and made this meaningful day possible. We hope these blankets bring warmth, comfort, and a reminder that every child is cared for. ❤️

Join Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR for our Summer Service Project & Potluck on Saturday, July 18th!

This year, we are honored to support Project Linus - Wake County, NC by creating no-sew fleece blankets for seriously ill and traumatized children in our area. Together, we’ll make handmade blankets that offer comfort, warmth, and encouragement to children and families facing difficult moments.

We look forward to spending time together in fellowship while making a meaningful impact through service.

This Fourth of July, members of Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR were honored to participate in the Naturalization Ceremony at the North Carolina State Capitol as part of the America 250 NC celebration.

Along with fellow patriots, we helped celebrate this special occasion through wreath-laying, sharing American flags with attendees, and welcoming new citizens as they took the Oath of Allegiance and officially joined the American family.

Despite the summer heat, it was a joyful day filled with patriotic music, meaningful moments, and the privilege of witnessing individuals and families begin their next chapter as United States citizens.

There is something truly special about celebrating our nation’s birthday alongside those who have chosen America as their home. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor this cherished tradition and celebrate the enduring promise of our country.

Today we celebrate not only the Fourth of July, but also the 250th birthday of the United States of America.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, our ancestor's bold vision for liberty, self-government, and opportunity changed the course of history. As we gather with family and friends, may we also take a moment to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who made our nation's independence possible—and on the responsibility we share to preserve those ideals for future generations.

From all of us at Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR, we wish you a joyful, safe, and meaningful Independence Day.

For our Spring Service Project, we are honored to support the Military Women's Memorial through their “Adopt a Woman Veteran” initiative. Members will gather for a hands-on, classroom-style session to help research and preserve the stories of women who served by registering them in the national database. Each participant will receive a veteran profile, supporting materials, and access to a resource guide. Technical assistance will be available, and we encourage you to bring a laptop or tablet to complete your work during the session.

Micajah Bullock Daughters gathered to celebrate Valentine’s Day at our February Chapter meeting with a fascinating presentation on “Unlocking Family History with A.I. Full-Text Search.”

Members of all ages were captivated as they discovered practical tips and powerful techniques for using this innovative technology to uncover stories, connections, and records that might otherwise remain hidden. It was an inspiring morning of learning, excitement, and a shared passion for preserving our family histories. ❤️

After a busy holiday season, members of the Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR were delighted to gather for our January meeting. We kicked off the new year with an engaging and informative presentation by Mary Tatum, former NCDAR State Parliamentarian, who made “Parliamentary Procedure Made Easy!” both approachable and practical. A wonderful way to start the year informed, connected, and inspired!
