VOLUNTEER NEEDED w/ Roots with Purpose

We are growing and looking to fill a very specific volunteer role that will help create and nurture community connections. We are a local nonprofit organization who serve the unhoused/underserved neighbors in our community. We are a grass-roots organization that is currently 100% volunteer run! We are proud to recruit volunteers who see and feel our passion as we intended.

What is a Community Outreach Coordinator?
🟢Someone who is able to attend networking meetings (day/evening)
🟢Someone who is able to engage and connect our organization to other local organizations.
🟢Someone who can dedicate 15-20 hours per month and is interested in a long-term commitment (1-2 years). Remember this is a volunteer role, but we are looking for someone who is passionate about the work we do and who will show up!
🟢Someone who understands our mission and vision and can share those during networking events or via email/phone with interested partners.
🟢Someone who is comfortable speaking in front of others as well as email/phone communication.
🟢Someone who can share our programs with other organizations/businesses to see how we can work together either on a 1-time project/event or long-term.
🟢Someone who can attend events on behalf of Roots with Purpose that are hosted by current partners or potential partners.
🟢 Interested candidate must reside in/around the Triangle region in order to attend in-person commitments.

Day Shelter is different than emergency or overnight shelter. We work with women, providing meals, case management, and wrap around services. But what does wrap around really mean?
At the Women's Center, part of that support is ensuring women have their hygiene needs met. Our Star Store provides soap, shampoo, dental and feminine hygiene products, along with clothing, shoes, and survival supplies. We also have opportunities for women to take showers, get their laundry done, or learn something new.
Enrichment activities are a great way for volunteers to get involved without a long term commitment. You can teach one class or 20, and openings are available most weekdays in the morning or afternoon. For more information on how you can get involved, visit https://buff.ly/Tat2pzX

Our Pet Food Pantry shelves are looking a little bare, and we need your help to keep pets fed and families together. 🐾

We're currently running low on cat litter and medium-sized bags of dog food (18lb bags), two essentials that help us support pet owners in Wake County and surrounding areas facing financial challenges.

The Pet Food Pantry makes a real difference in our community. One in four pet owners who give up their pets to shelters say it's because they can't afford to care for them. By providing temporary food assistance, we help keep beloved pets in their loving homes and out of shelters.
