In two weeks, Karen Community Farm Manager, Htoo Saw, will begin a strenuous journey back to his home village in Karen State, Burma, for the first time since he moved to North Carolina in 2004. His goal is to provide support, and bring supplies, for the Karen children there, who are often the most vulnerable to attacks and oppression by the Burma Military during this civil war. The same attacks and suffering that he once endured there as a child.
While there is no school in the village, roughly 40 children are attempting to attend "house school" in the bamboo home of a local villager. The children shown in this video are those he will be assisting. They are in need of clothing, food, medical supplies, and school supplies. We are extremely grateful to anyone in our community who may be willing to donate to this cause. All money raised will be put directly towards purchasing these supplies for the children that will be transported directly by Htoo Saw into Burma. Donations can be made through the Venmo account linked below, which is operated by the Karen Farm. Please feel free to reach out directly to us with any questions. Thank you in advance for your generosity, thoughts, and prayers.
