“I would love for us to search the scriptures together with respect, bring any doctrine you hold and let’s test it by the word.” Scripture is our measure… Acts 17:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, 2 Timothy 2:15, psalms 119:105, 1 John 4:1, John 7:24, John 17:17, Mark 7:7-13, 1 Corinthians 14:29, 2 Corinthians 13:5, Deuteronomy 13:1-4, and Galatians 1:8-9.” “The goal is not argument but truth, seeking what aligns with God’s word. Bring scripture. Let’s test the doctrine.” ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Pastor, I respect you as a brother in Christ, but I want to approach our differences from strict Sola Scriptura. Scripture is my final authority, so I believe every doctrine should be tested by the Word of God. I’m willing to have my beliefs examined the same way. I love my Trinitarian brothers, but I ask that my conscience and commitment to biblical wording be respected. Let’s discuss Scripture itself rather than attacking one another”.

“I hear you use the expression ‘God the Son.’ I personally don’t use that phrase because I’m committed to the biblical wording, ‘the Son of God.’ Tertullian was an early Christian writer who helped develop Trinitarian theological language, and later councils, like Nicaea in 325, further formulated doctrine. I respect the history, but my authority is Scripture. So respectfully, I’ll stick with the biblical wording, ’the Son of God.’

I still love my trinitarian brothers….

“I approach faith the way the Bereans did, by testing teachings against Scripture. Scripture is my final authority, and I respect church history but do not treat traditions or councils as equal to the Bible.”

Can any new doctrine be demonstrated from the Bible?

I believe in Strict Sola Scriptura. Scripture alone is my final authority for determining doctrine. I respect church history, councils, creeds, and theological writings as historical witnesses, but not as authorities equal to Scripture. I test teachings against the Word of God, like the Bereans(those who examine scripture to test what they hear)Acts 17:11. If a doctrine is true, it should be demonstrable from Scripture. I do not accept a doctrine merely because a church, council, tradition, or theologian teaches it. My standard is simple:
“Test all things, hold fast to what is good”

Acts 17 11, 1 Thessalonians 5:21, 1 John 4: 1, Isaiah 8:20, 2 Timothy 3:16,17, Galatians 1:8 ,9, John 7 :24, 1 Corinthians 14:29, 2 Corinthians 13: 5, Deuteronomy 13:1 -4.

Pastors, I realize calling you “catechists” may have come across the wrong way. I’m sorry for that. I expect my convictions to be respected. I’m asking for Scripture’s wording to be respected in our discussions. I’m trying to follow Scripture as closely as I can and keep it as my final authority. I’m not asking anyone to agree with me, I’m asking for respect.
