The true value of a garden lives in its people. 🌱🫶🏾

Through volunteering with Reclamation FARMacy, Quinton shared that their life was enriched, but the feeling is deeply mutual.

Their time, care, energy, and presence enriched our garden and strengthened our community.

Quinton reminds us that when people pour into the land, the land, and the community surrounding it, pour back into them. We’re so grateful they chose to grow with us. 🤎

Cultural seed saving protects ancestral knowledge, cultural memory, and our power to feed future generations. Crops like okra and watermelon connect Black communities to African foodways - seeds carried across generations as symbols of survival, nourishment, and resistance. 🌱✊🏾

Here in the US, Black growers also transformed watermelon into a powerful crop of nourishment, economic independence, and freedom after Emancipation.

Reclamation FARMacy preserves these seeds in solidarity with and in remembrance of those that came before us. 🤎

Join us for Nation of Diveristy (NOD)’s five success story program gala and documentary on October 10, 2026. The documentary chronicles how we join other community organizations to help NOD uplift 5 families out of homelessness. So grateful to be a part of such important work.
