April is Autism Awareness Month 💙
At Open Mynd Outreach, we’ve grown and expanded our mission to serve all youth, especially those who are underserved, at-promise, and in need of safe, supportive spaces. But let’s be clear… autism and neurodiversity will always be a huge part of what we do.
This month is not just about awareness. It’s about understanding, support, and showing up the right way.
We know so many families are navigating this journey, some with a diagnosis, some without, and some just knowing deep down they have a superhero at home that needs a little more support, structure, and understanding.
If that’s you… we see you 👀
This month, we want to
Highlight local events and safe spaces where families can connect and feel supported
Help you find real resources, including evaluations, therapy options, school support, and community programs
Connect you with people who actually understand this journey, not just talk about it
Shine a light on individuals and families who are living this every day and willing to share their experiences to help others
If you feel like your child hasn’t been properly diagnosed or you don’t even know where to start, reach out. We can help guide you in the right direction and connect you with trusted professionals and organizations.
And if you are someone doing the work, advocating, educating, parenting, mentoring, or creating safe spaces, we want to highlight you this month. Your voice matters and your impact deserves to be seen.
Autism is not a limitation. It’s a different way of experiencing the world, and our job as a community is to make sure every child feels supported, understood, and empowered.
This month and every month, we’re committed to opening doors, building connections, and making sure no family feels like they have to figure this out alone.
Let’s do this together 💙
