Hi… my name is Dumpling, and I’m still figuring out this big, busy world—but I’m hoping my forever family is out there waiting for me.
I guess you could say my story started on the side of a road. My brother and I were being given away by someone who couldn’t keep us anymore. We didn’t even have our vaccines yet, so we were at risk of getting really sick out there. It was scary and confusing, and I didn’t really understand what was going to happen to us.
But then something really good happened.
A kind volunteer from Central Arizona Animal Rescue found us and made sure we were safe. They brought us in, got us the care we needed, and gave us a chance at a better life. I’m still just a little puppy—about 3 months old when I arrived—and even though I don’t know much about where I came from (they say my mom was just a stray roaming the neighborhood), I’m starting to learn what it means to feel safe.
I’ll be honest with you… I’m a little shy.
When the humans here try to take my picture, I tend to hide. It’s not that I don’t like them—I’m just still learning how to be brave. New things can feel a little overwhelming, so sometimes I tuck myself away where I feel safe. But underneath that shy little shell is a sweet girl who just needs patience and kindness to come out of it.
With a little time, I promise I’ll show you who I really am.
I’m a black puppy with just a little bit of white on my chest and face, and I’ve been told I’m going to grow into a big, beautiful dog. My brother looks a lot like a mastiff, so the humans think I probably have some mastiff in me too. That means I’ll likely be strong and loyal when I grow up—but right now, I’m just a soft, wiggly pup trying to learn the ropes.
Since I’m still so young, I’m what they call a blank slate. That means I don’t know things like house training or leash walking yet—but it also means you can teach me everything your way. I haven’t picked up any bad habits, and I’m ready to learn from someone who will be patient and encouraging.
I may be a little timid at first, but I’m also gentle and full of potential.
I would do really well in a home with another dog. Having a confident companion around would help me feel safe and show me how to be brave. I like the idea of having a buddy to follow and learn from—it makes the world feel less scary.
I’m also young enough that I can easily learn to live with cats. As long as I’m introduced properly and given time to adjust, I should be just fine sharing my home with them.
What I need most is a family who understands that I might not be the first one to run up and say hello—but that doesn’t mean I don’t want love. It just means I need a little extra patience and reassurance. Once I feel safe, I’ll start to open up… and when I do, it will be something really special.
The reward of earning the trust of a shy puppy like me? I think it’s one of the best feelings in the world.

Hi! My name is Pork Chop… and yes, I know—it’s kind of a funny name for a puppy, but I think it fits me pretty well. I’m a big, squishy, brindle-colored boy with lots of loose skin and even more love to give.
My story started a little differently than most. One day, I was sitting on the side of the road with my sister, and someone was just… giving us away. We didn’t have vaccines, we didn’t have a safe place, and we didn’t really understand what was happening. A kind volunteer from Central Arizona Animal Rescue saw us and knew we needed help, so they scooped us up and brought us somewhere safe.
That’s where my new life began.
I was about 3 months old then, and while I don’t know much about my past (I heard my mom was just roaming the neighborhood as a stray), I do know that I’m safe now—and I’m dreaming about my future.
The humans here say I’m probably some kind of mastiff mix, which means I’m going to grow into a big, strong, handsome boy. Right now, I’m already thick and sturdy with big paws and lots of extra wrinkles—perfect for snuggles, if you ask me.
Even though I’m going to be big, I have a super gentle and sweet personality. I love playing with the other dogs in my kennel, and honestly… most of them are smaller than me, but they still boss me around! And you know what? I don’t mind at all. I just go with the flow and play nicely. That’s why everyone here thinks I’d do great in a home with another dog—I really enjoy having a buddy around.
Since I’m still just a puppy, I haven’t learned much yet. The people here have already taken care of all the important things for me. I’m up to date on my vaccinations, I’ve been neutered, and I even have a microchip now. That means no matter what happens, I’ll always have a way to find my way back home.
But… I still need a home to find my way to.
What I’m really looking for is a family who understands that I’m going to grow—both in size and in personality. Someone who will help guide me, teach me, and love me as I figure things out. I promise in return, I’ll give you my loyalty, my goofy puppy energy, and a lifetime of companionship.
I might be a little rough around the edges right now, but underneath it all, I’m just a big-hearted pup who wants to belong.

For a long time, my world was pretty small. I lived at a home where, one day, everything changed. My family packed up and left… and they didn’t take me with them. I was alone, still caring for my puppies—with no idea what would happen next. But I did what moms do: I stayed strong for them, kept them safe, and loved them with everything I had.
Thankfully, kind people from animal control found us and made sure we were okay. Not long after, we were brought here to Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where we were given the care, safety, and comfort we needed. I got to finish raising my puppies in a warm, safe place, and one by one, they all found their own loving homes.
And now… it’s my turn to find mine.
I’m about 3 years old, a proud German Shepherd with a loyal heart and a playful spirit. Even after everything I’ve been through, I’m still a very sweet girl who just wants a person—or a family—to call my own.
One of my favorite things in the world is playing ball. If you toss it, I will chase it with everything I’ve got. Over and over again. It’s my happy place! And when the Arizona sun gets a little too hot for all that running? Don’t worry—I’ve figured out the perfect solution. I love to hop into the pool and cool off before I’m ready for another round.

Hi there… my name is Turbo, and I’m hoping you might be the person I’ve been waiting for.
I’m a small, scruffy, wire-haired terrier mix—about 15 pounds of quiet sweetness. My name might make you think I’m full speed all the time, but really, I’m more of a gentle, steady kind of girl who just enjoys being close to my people and feeling safe.
I actually started my journey here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue when I was just a tiny puppy—about 4 months old. Back then, I was adopted into what I thought would be my forever home. I grew up there, learned about life in a family, and got used to all the comforts of being loved. But recently, for reasons I don’t quite understand, I found myself back here at the rescue.
It’s been a little confusing, if I’m being honest… but the nice people here keep telling me that it just means my real forever family is still out there. And I really hope they’re right.
Let me tell you a little about me.
I’m a pretty quiet girl—you might even forget I’m around sometimes because I’m so well-behaved. I’ve lived with kids before, so I already know how to be gentle and respectful around them. I understand that little humans can be part of the pack, and I do just fine sharing my space and my love with them.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that I’m house trained—that’s right, I already know where to go potty! I’ve also done really well with other dogs. Right now, I’m sharing a kennel with several of them, and we all get along nicely. I’m friendly, easygoing, and not the kind of dog who tries to stir up trouble.
When it comes to fun, I do have a playful side… especially when it’s hot outside. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy taking a little dip in the pool to cool off! There’s something so refreshing about splashing around and then finding a cozy spot to dry off afterward.
My wire-haired coat is another bonus—it doesn’t shed much, so I’m fairly low-maintenance when it comes to grooming. Just a little brushing here and there, and I’m good to go.

I’m about a year and a half old, a Boxer with a full, happy tail that never seems to stop wagging once I get comfortable. Life has been a bit of a mystery for me so far—I don’t really remember where I came from. I was found all alone as a stray in Yuma, Arizona, and even though kind people looked for my family, no one ever came to take me home. But that’s okay… because now I’m here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and everyone keeps telling me my real family is still out there, just waiting to meet me.
Maybe that’s you.
I should probably tell you something important about me—I can be a little shy at first. New people make me a bit unsure, and I just need a little time to figure out that everything’s okay and that I can trust you. But once I do… oh boy, you’d better be ready.
Because that’s when the zoomies happen.
You’ll see a whole different side of me—my tail wagging like crazy, my feet flying, my whole body wiggling with excitement. I just get so happy! It’s like all the love I’ve been holding inside comes bursting out at once. I promise I’ll make you laugh.
Underneath that playful, energetic side, I’m really just a sweet, affectionate girl. I love being around my people and soaking up attention once I feel safe. I’m the kind of dog who will quietly come stand by you, just happy to be close, and then suddenly turn into your goofy best friend the next minute.

I was found wandering as a stray in Yuma, Arizona, and the kind officers there made sure I was safe. I waited and waited, hoping my family would come find me—but when no one showed up, I was given a second chance. I took a little road trip (which I thought was pretty exciting!) and ended up here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’m being cared for until I find my real forever home.

I’ll be honest—I can be a tiny bit shy at first. New places and new faces can feel a little overwhelming. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t take long at all for me to figure out that I’m safe. Give me just a few minutes, a gentle voice, and a little patience… and I’ll start to trust you. And once I do? Oh, get ready.

Hi there… my name is Love, and if you’ve got a few minutes, I’d really like to tell you my story.
I’m about a year old, an Australian Shepherd mix, and everyone says I’m as sweet as my name. Not too long ago, my life was a little uncertain. I was found wandering as a stray in Yuma, Arizona, and the kind officers there made sure I was safe. I waited and waited, hoping my family would come find me—but when no one showed up, I was given a second chance. I took a little road trip (which I thought was pretty exciting!) and ended up here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’m being cared for until I find my real forever home.
Maybe that home could be with you?
I’ll be honest—I can be a tiny bit shy at first. New places and new faces can feel a little overwhelming. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t take long at all for me to figure out that I’m safe. Give me just a few minutes, a gentle voice, and a little patience… and I’ll start to trust you. And once I do? Oh, get ready.
I’ll climb right into your lap (yes, I know I’m not exactly tiny, but I think I am!) and cover you in happy kisses. I LOVE to snuggle—hence the name, right? Being close to my person is my favorite place in the whole world.
I’ve been sharing my kennel with other dogs, and so far, I’ve done really well! I enjoy their company, and I’m respectful and friendly. As for cats… well, that’s a bit of a mystery. No one has seen me around them yet, so we’d just need to take introductions slow and steady if you have feline friends at home.
I think I’d be good with kids too—I’ve got a gentle heart—but I should let you know that I’m still learning my manners. I’m young, after all! I could use some guidance with things like walking nicely on a leash and understanding all the rules of being a well-behaved family member. The good news? I’m very smart and eager to please. With a little consistency and love, I’ll catch on quickly.
Speaking of learning, no one is quite sure if I’m house trained yet. But don’t worry—like I said, I’m a quick learner, and I really want to make you proud. With a routine and encouragement, I’ll figure it out in no time.
I’ve already had some important things taken care of—I’m up to date on all my vaccinations, I’ve been microchipped, and I’m spayed. That means I’m healthy, ready for my new life, and I’ll always have a way to find my way back home to you. I think that part might be my favorite—knowing I’ll finally belong somewhere.
