The first Angel Dash is coming to Puyallup! Hosted by the Family Birth Center staff at Good Samaritan Hospital! Registration will open on Sunday 2/15. Strollers and pups welcome! Shirts will be available in youth sizes as well.

Our event will include a memorial speaker and an activity to remember the babies that did not get to come home.

This event is benefitting the patients and families in our community experiencing all types of pregnancy loss. Intentional - My word for 2025.

2025 was incredible, and I will never take for granted how profoundly life has changed this year.
In January 2025, a deep bond I formed with a patient unexpectedly grew into the creation of a charitable organization.

Since then, over one thousand teddy bears have been sent to hospitals across the country—and this week, I received emails requesting replacement boxes. That still amazes me.

This journey has forever changed my life. The relationships I’ve built along the way have been meaningful and transformative. I entered 2025 desperately trying to find myself, and through something as simple as a teddy bear, I rediscovered my passion and my purpose.

This year, I stepped into a leadership role at my home hospital, supporting a team I value deeply. I continued pursuing my master’s degree, was honored as the 2025 Puget Sound Health Care Hero, and made a conscious effort to grow—not just professionally, but as a mother and a wife.

I’m so grateful for everyone who supported me through this season of growth. I can’t wait to step into the new year with fresh goals and ambitions, alongside the same people who have loved and believed in me every step of the way.

The Wave of Light 2025 🤍🕯️

Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your families story. Tonight is a reminder that your baby does not go forgotten beyond these walls.

Let each day from here on be a reminder of how inspiring and courageous you are.

Join us this evening as we come together to remember and honor all the babies who left this world far too soon. 💗💙

At 7pm local time, light a candle and let it shine for at least one hour as part of the global Wave of Light, honoring every precious little one gone too soon. Whether you’re lighting it for your own baby or standing in support of families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, please know—you are not alone. We hold you and your babies close in our hearts tonight and always.

We’ll be lighting our candles in memory of all the sweet tinies we’ve come to know and love through this community. 🕯️✨
Who are you lighting your candle for tonight?
Share your baby’s name or names in the comments so we can honor them together.

The last slide of this post is blank—feel free to add your baby’s name and share it on your story. If you post a photo or video of your candle, tag us and use so we can help share your baby’s light tonight

October 15th is recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The nurses at Good Samaritan are holding a Wave of Light for honoring the families and those affected by pregnancy and infant loss. The nurses would like to honor the babies that many long to hold by placing their names in a heart. If you wish to submit your babies name please send a message or comment with first name format - (Ex: Baby K, Baby Emily Mae).

These families mean so much to our team, and this is just a small way we can honor their strength and the babies who will always be remembered. 🤍

A couple months ago, we sent a teddy bear box all the way from Washington to UVA Culpeper in Virginia.

What we didn’t know then was just how perfect the timing would be. Only a week after arriving, the box was needed—to bring comfort in a heartbreaking moment of loss.

It’s a quiet but powerful reminder: these bears may travel miles, but their purpose always finds its way. 🧸💛

Story Submission:

“Raeli K is a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and has been working there for almost 7 years. Raeli started off on the Medical Oncology unit after moving back home from South Dakota where she worked in the ER. She served 3.5 years there growing each year in her career and falling deeper in love with nursing. Oncology brought in lots of special patients but she developed a deep love for women’s health and empowering women and their families. Raeli had her first daughter in 2021 and cut her maternity leave short to pursue her dream job with a position in Good Samaritan’s Family birth center. Four years later Raeli still continues to find more ways to grow as a nurse and never stops finding the opportunity to learn. Raeli has learned the realm of the labor room, the OR scrubbing in on emergent deliveries, teaching breastfeeding on mother baby, snuggling the feeder grower babies in the NICU, empowering the post-hyst patient after surgery, leading her team with grace as the charge nurse, holding the hand of a first time mom in triage in active labor, & most of all… Sitting beside the mom and dad who just found out their baby won’t be coming home. Here is where her passion and drive lies way beneath the depths of the surface of a labor nurse. In January 2025 Raeli had a small ask to refill the birth centers teddy bear supply for a patient who was in need. A small ask went incredibly viral. In four days 800 bears were on her doorstep. This is where she developed “Teddies for Tinies” to provide what she could resemble a little piece of heaven for a grieving family. Raeli has created a non-profit and has already helped deliver 400 bears to hospitals all over the state of Washington as well as some other states in need. Raeli is an incredible nurse and deserves some of the best recognition for her overflowing compassion - even though she won’t seek it. She’s incredible example in becoming something bigger than yourself. I encourage you to look into her story and also nominate her for mariners nurse appreciation night. "

Teddy Bears reached Lakeland Regional Medical Center this week in Florida!

I am really grateful for the support from the community to help me get teddy bears delivered to hospitals all over the country. When I started this very small “organization/charity” I never in my wildest dreams thought it would take off in the way it has. The hope would be to never have to give these bears out, however shedding light on some of the hardest days working in the birth centers and having the ability to support these families reminds me that we all can be apart of something far more bigger than we imagined. 🫶🏻🧸
