Our Story
Sadie Grace Ablard was blessed with a joyful, glowing smile. In her memory, we want to help as many children as possible have such a smile. Sadie shared her love and joy freely with everyone, and this is a way for her to continue doing just that. On August 9th, 2011, Sadie joined her angel friends in heaven after sustaining a head injury while rollerskating. Our hearts are forever broken at our loss, but we want to turn our efforts to life-affirming, loving acts such as those done by Smile Train.
Our fundraising goal of $478,250.00 would give a child a smile surgery for each day of Sadie's life; 1,913 days, 1,913 joyful smiles. Smile Train repairs cleft palates for children in developing countries for an average of $250 per surgery. These children are often shunned from their communities, not allowed to attend school, or marry. They cannot eat or speak properly and are often hidden away. Sadie and I were moved by this organization that completely changes a child's life for so little money. Thank you so much to all of you who have already contributed.
Will you consider donating $25.00, $100.00 or a 'smile', $250.00. You could raise the funds among coworkers, family members, or raise awareness in your neighborhood by gathering enough to change one child's life forever. It also makes a wonderful gift to donate to the fund in someone's name. Your contribution is fully tax-deductible.
Please take a minute to click on the link below. It will take you to Sadie's tribute page on the Smile Train website where you can make a donation. Again, it is 100% tax-deductible, so what better time to donate than the end of the year. Surgeries are often scheduled within 24 hours of your making a donation!
Thank you for your support! We couldn’t do this without you!
