Troop C - Camp Cadet A camp designed to bring a better understanding of law enforcement activities to young people. "A Positive Experience for Police and our Youth"

Troop C Camp Cadet is a week long summer camp for boys and girls from Pennsylvania, between the ages of 13 - 15. You must be a resident of the area, served by Troop C, which includes: Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson and McKean counties, and be in good physical condition. Camp Cadet focuses on discipline, self-esteem, teamwork, drug and alcohol education, violence prevention an

d many other issues facing today's youth. The goal of Camp Cadet is to introduce participants to the diverse criminal justice system and establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel. Camp Cadet is a non-profit organization operating under Citizens for Camp Cadet. Meals, lodging, and programs are provided at NO COST to the applicant. Camps are funded by various fundraisers, businesses, and community donations. Camp Cadet is staffed by Troopers, local police officers and many other volunteers. Troop C Camp Cadet is hosted at Penn West Clarion University campus. Camp programs include, but are not limited to; radar demonstrations, a first-hand look at the State Police Helicopter, the Special Emergency Response TEAM or S.E.R.T, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Secret Service, the PA Game Commission, the PA Fish & Boat Commission, the PA National Guard, and other law enforcement agencies. During the week of camp, cadets will participate in swimming, canoeing, self-defense, and other recreational activities, reinforcing teamwork and community building. To apply, there is a non-refundable registration fee of $20.00, which is required at the time of application for each child attending the camp. Checks can be made payable to "Citizens for Camp Cadet".

The PA Game Commission stopped by during camp week to provide information on what they do and the care they provide to our wildlife! We were lucky enough to see a few bears which were trapped to be relocated and shown some of the medical care they can provide.
