Celebrate community, learning, and culture in Rhode Island.

07/04/2026

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from the Middle Eastern Education & Cultural Center of Rhode Island!

Today, we celebrate the spirit of independence and the promise of a brighter future. Many of our families came to the United States in search of safety, opportunity, and a place to call home. Today, we celebrate not only our nation’s independence, but also the journeys that have brought us together.

May this holiday remind us that unity, respect, and cultural diversity strengthen the fabric of our nation.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and joyful Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙

MEECC-RI was pleased to collaborate with Brown University students on Understanding U.S.-Iran Relations and Iranian Immigration in America, a presentation and community conversation focused on history, migration, and community perspectives.

We appreciate Amish and Andrea for reaching out to help ensure that community feedback was included in the process, and we are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to a thoughtful dialogue.

Special thank you to Renee Cornue Studio for photographing the event for us!

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our community and beyond.🌸

Across the Middle East, Mother’s Day is celebrated on different dates, each connected to meaningful traditions.

At MEECC-RI, we honor these diverse customs as part of our mission to educate, connect, and share the richness of Middle Eastern cultures with our Rhode Island community.

2025 will always hold a special place in our hearts as the year we began. In less than six months of operation, the Center already had the privilege of serving Middle Eastern individuals and families across the Rhode Island community. What began as an idea rooted in belonging, access, and cultural pride quickly grew into a community hub.

Our English and Arabic classes now have consistent attendance, our programs are growing through word of mouth and we are seeing continued interest in our offered programs. This trust means everything to us. If 2025 was the year of foundation, 2026 will be the year we build upon this foundation.

We want to thank Brown University for their steadfast support as well as Lincoln Library and Providence Libraries, who allowed us to host our English classes in accessible, convenient locations for our students.

We truly appreciate this community’s support and look forward to continuing serving our Rhode Island community.
