Rhode Island Children's Book Award

Rhode Island Children's Book Award Annually children in grades 3 to 5 have the opportunity to vote on their favorite book from a ballot of 20 selections.

The Rhode Island's Children's Book Award is an annual award given to the author of a book chosen by RI children, grades 3-5, as their favorite. Co-Sponsors include: School Librarians of RI (SLRI), RI Library Association (RILA), and RI Center for the Book.

Applications for a FREE RICBA Book Set for RI School Libraries that participate in the RICBA program: The application for a set of 2027 RICBA nominees will be open July 27 - August 11, 2026.

The Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) in partnership with the RI Center for the Book (RICfB) is offering book sets of the 2027 RI Children Book Award nominees to school libraries planning to participate in voting for the 2027 award in March - April 2027. Due to the limited number of book sets available, OLIS and RICfB may not be able to fulfill all requests and priority will be given to school libraries that demonstrate need.
