!!Warning Long Post!!
Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself my name is Kermit Adkins and I am the league President for our youth league this year. Luke Evans has stepped back a little bit but is still around helping make sure there a smooth transition this year for everyone.
Sign ups are live online now till July 25, first practice will be July 27th.
*Please note to help ensure jersey shipment arrives before first game on August 8th. All football players who want to pick their jersey number and have their last name on the back of the jersey need to have sign up by Tuesday July 14th and we will place that order on July 18th. We will order extra jerseys but they won’t he players names on the back if they sign up after the 14th, again this is for football players.*
I want to thank all the parents who were able to come out last night for the cheer uniform fittings, our cheerleaders seemed super excited to get this season going.
We will be placing that order on June 1st if there is a cheerleader who still wants to purchase their own uniform please reach out to Bailey McComas and she will make arrangements so you can try one on first. Again this is 100% optional as the league will still let the cheerleaders use a uniform this season that they just have to return at the end of the season.
FYFL unfortunately will not be setting up at the fair this year, this decision was voted on by the league board members. Full transparency last year we only made $900 for the full week, so this season we will be looking at other ways to do fundraising to help cover cost for the league to help maximize our volunteering efforts.
FYFL takes pride ourselves in community efforts and giving back each year we give out a $500 scholarship to one male and one female student athlete who participated in our program during the youth, qualifications are they at least spent two years and they write a essay informing us what they learned. Once I collected these applications I blacked out their names and presented them to the board members who voted anonymously. Once everyone had to chance to review and vote I then informed the board who the winners were. This year our winners were Grace Miller and Connor Black.
Some people have asked if their child needs to try out for any team for the youth league. Fairland Youth League DOES NOT make kids try out, we will not cut a child from a team who maybe not be as gifted and talented as those around them, as we know everyone deserves a chance to and participate. We do have a ZERO bully policy in place and coaches and board members will be/are aware of this policy and how we have to deal with this if the situation does happen. We encourage all young athletes to come out and participate. As we have football, cheer, and majorettes.
Finally, we will be posting not only our Fairland Youth League bylaws but will also be posting Tri-States Football and Cheer bylaws to help ensure full transparency just waiting on TriState to update the last few things that were recently changed and will post.
Thank you all for your support and we are excited for the 2026, if you have questions please send us a direct message.
