💜 An important personal update from our hearts to yours...
To our friends, followers, and neighbors across NW Iowa: we want to share a major shift in how we will be showing up for our community. By the end of August, we will formally step away from operating as a registered nonprofit organization.
To be completely transparent, running this program at a business-registered level has demanded an overwhelming amount of behind-the-scenes hours. We’ve realized that the administrative paperwork and corporate upkeep are pulling our energy away from what matters most....supporting survivors. Because of this, we have chosen to transition The Surviving Forward Foundation (soon to be known as The Survivors Forward Club) into a personal, free-time support group hobby. Shifting to this personal level allows us to protect our time and focus entirely on being there for you, without the burnout of running a business.
While the official corporate structure is closing down, our commitment to you is not. We are simply returning to our true core—a personal, close-knit group of survivors standing beside other survivors. These changes will be fully in effect by the end of August.
What this means for our community moving forward:
We are shifting our fundraising gears - Future fundraising efforts will focus on creating care packages, donation baskets, and direct financial contributions for registered, widely known survivor-based organizations across Iowa.
We are launching an Amazon wish list - To make it easy to support these care packages, we will be creating an Amazon wish list where you can directly buy items needed for survivors.
We are leaning fully into personal connection - We will continue coming together to support survivors through informal meetups—like grabbing coffee together, meeting up at community spaces, and organizing local gatherings in our free time.
Our official business paperwork might be ending, but our presence is not. We are still right here with you, just on a much more personal level.

Starting August 30, Facebook will be our primary form of communication. Our digital doors are always open, and you can always reach out and message this page directly. Please note that our old email address and phone number will be dissolved by the August 30 date, so messaging us here is the best way to stay in touch!

Before our official shift at the end of August, we are thrilled to confirm that we WILL still be hosting our golf tournament on August 7th in Storm Lake!

Where the funds go: True to our new vision, the funds raised from this specific event will go directly toward building donation baskets for local women's shelters and supporting NW Iowa-based survivor support programs. Come out, play, and help us kick off this next chapter!
