200 children in one of the most marginalized flooded communities in Laguna, Philippines need school supplies and that’s only a small glimpse of the reality many children across the Philippines face every school year. 💛

For families living in one of the most marginalized flooded squatter communities, survival comes first. Food, shelter, and getting through each day become the priority, leaving school supplies almost impossible to afford. 💔

This school year, Let Love Thrive hopes to help 200 children start school feeling prepared, confident, and seen. ✏️🎒

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we honor the healing that begins when children are given safe spaces, emotional support, and the freedom to simply be children again.

Through our Kid Resilience Program, we’ve firsthand seen the growth, confidence, and healing that can happen when children who have experienced trauma are met with patience, compassion, creativity, and care.

Sometimes healing begins with something as simple as finally feeling safe enough to speak, breathe, play, create, or smile again.

Let Love Thrive had the opportunity to meet with Voice of the Free, who support victims of modern slavery, child trafficking, and exploitation.

The meeting centered on a serious discussion around child exploitation and the urgent need for continued protection and support for vulnerable women and children.

They also explored potential collaboration to provide mental health workshops for girls in their safe house, along with future partnership opportunities on violence prevention programs, including education on trafficking and exploitation for youth.

Let Love Thrive, in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines, facilitated a mental health session with Women with Disability taking Action on Reproductive and Sexual Health.

The session was part of the writeshop for the project “Kababaihang may Kapansanan, may Karapatan sa Sariling Pagpapasya.” (Women with Disabilities Have the Right to Make Their Own Decisions.)

It included a basic introduction to mental health and the Mental Health Law, followed by a psychosocial activity focused on self-awareness, emotional well-being, and safe spaces for sharing.

The session aimed to support participants as they engage in discussions on sexual and reproductive health, menstrual dignity, and disability rights.

On March 2, Let Love Thrive joined the Commission on Human Rights to launch Women’s Month with Purple Action Day.

The room was filled with women’s organizations and human rights advocates amplifying the voices of women across the Philippines. Together, we honored Women Human Rights Defenders, our “Sheroes,” whose courage to stand for justice often puts their own lives at risk.

We were proud to stand in solidarity and connect with new partners as we continue expanding our work to support women and children.

Valentine’s Day, for us, is not about romance.

It’s about Love.

The kind that shows up.
The kind that creates space.
The kind that chooses children again and again.

We spent Valentine’s Day with Love — the children we sponsor.

Because love is not just something we say.
It’s something we practice.

We practice it by showing up.
By listening.
By making sure they feel seen, valued, and safe.

No child goes hungry today! On February 16, we showed up in Brgy. Cuyab, San Pedro, Laguna. We served meal aid to 200 children. Warm food, full cups, and one small moment of relief for families still trying to recover from year-round flooding. ✨

Barangay Cuyab is one of the most distressed communities in San Pedro. Families live in makeshift homes along the bay, where flooding returns season after season. When the water rises, they evacuate. The community spend months in shelters. When they finally come home, it means cleaning up mud, replacing what was ruined, and rebuilding from almost nothing. 🌊🏠

Our hope is to keep coming back in small, steady ways so they continue to feel supported and cared for through the long rebuilding. 🤍
