Be Part of the Foundation

Some people wait for momentum.

Others CREATE it.

YCRC is still in the building phase, which means there’s a real opportunity right now to help shape what this becomes for our community.

We’re creating shared infrastructure that can help multiple organizations grow stronger together instead of struggling separately.

That means:
✔ More access to space
✔ More opportunities for youth programs
✔ More collaboration
✔ More community impact

The people who step in early aren’t just supporting a project.
They’re becoming part of the foundation it’s built on.

An Opportunity to Help Build Something From the Ground Up

Opportunities like this don’t come around often.

Right now, our community has the chance to help create something that could support nonprofits, educators, youth programs, and families for YEARS to come.

YCRC is being designed as a shared community hub where organizations can access meeting space, shared resources, and collaborative support without carrying the full burden alone.

This is the exciting stage where people get to say:
“I helped build that.”

Not after it’s finished.
At the beginning.

It’s kind of wild looking at this storage unit and realizing how much stuff people have already donated for the Yavapai Community Resource Center (YCRC). 💛

There are tables, shelves, furniture, supplies, and all kinds of things that people in this community have trusted us with because they believe in what we’re trying to build.

The hard part now isn’t getting donations of “stuff.” It’s raising the money to actually open the doors and create the space where all of this can be used by nonprofits, homeschool groups, youth programs, and other community organizations.

Honestly, that part is a lot harder.

So I figured I’d just put this out there in case anyone wants to help. Even a small donation really does move us closer to making this happen.

And seriously, thank you. The support people have shown already has been amazing ❤️

One of the most interesting things we’re seeing as we talk to people about the Yavapai Community Resource Center (YCRC) is that so many people already have things they’re willing to share!

• Extra supplies
• Equipment
• Materials sitting unused

There’s no shortage of resources in our community—there’s just no central place to connect them.

That’s exactly what we’re building.

A system where:
👉 Useful items don’t go to waste
👉 People can access what they need
👉 The community benefits as a whole

It’s a simple idea, but the impact can be huge.

I keep thinking about this…

What if the Yavapai Community Resource Center (YCRC) already existed?

How many programs could be happening right now in our area that are struggling right now?

How many groups could start up or expand?

How many families could access more opportunities?

That’s really what this comes down to.
This isn’t about adding something extra—it’s about removing a barrier that’s been there for a long time.

We're working to make that a reality!

This might sound simple—but it matters more than people realize:

Tables. Chairs. Shelving. Storage.

These are some of the biggest barriers for small organizations and programs.

A group can have:
✔ Volunteers
✔ Ideas
✔ People who need their services

…but still struggle just because they don’t have the physical setup to run things consistently.

That’s a huge part of what we’re solving with the Yavapai Community Resource Center (YCRC).

We’re building a space where those basics are already in place—so groups can just show up and focus on what they do.

If you’ve ever run or helped with a group, you probably know exactly what I mean. Tell me, what items did you find were the most difficult to acquire?

A quick behind-the-scenes look at what we’re working on with the Yavapai Community Resource Center (YCRC)

Right now, we’re not just “raising money”—we’re building the foundation for something that will support our community long-term.

That includes:
• Planning how multiple groups can use the space at the same time
• Designing a system for sharing educational and creative supplies
• Figuring out how to keep access free for nonprofits and youth programs

The goal is to create something that actually works—not just something that sounds good.

It’s a lot of moving pieces, but it’s coming together.

If you’ve ever been involved in a nonprofit, school, or community group—what’s something you wish spaces like this did better?

A question for the teachers...

As we near the end of the school year, what is everyone doing with the school supplies they aren't going to use next year?

Old curriculum, pencils, crayons, maps, paper, classroom decorations, books, posters, and all the other things that teachers use.

Do you throw it away? Give it to other teachers? Put it in a bin in the hallway hoping someone else will pick it up before the janitor throw it out on the last day of school? Do you put it in a box in the closet hoping you will find someone who can use it? Do you donate it to a thrift shop hoping someone who needs it will find it there?

What if we could put all that stuff in a place where other teachers could come and get it year-round? What if there was a place where teachers could get the stuff they need for free?

That place sounds AMAZING right?!

That is what Yavapai Community Resource Center - YCRC is creating! Our Educational and Creative Resource Exchange will be a place where non-profits and educators can gather the supplies they need for free.

Here's how it works:

1. People donate educational and creative items to YCRC

2. Educators and non-profits come and shop for free

3. The community becomes stronger because we have more resources available at a cost everyone can afford!

Don't worry, we realize that everyone will probably want to shop at the Resource Exchange, so we have a plan for that too. If the shopper is not part of the educator or non-profit groups, they can still shop, they just pay what the items are worth to them.

With this setup, everybody wins!

So, before you throw anything away or stick it in a storage box, consider donating it to YCRC! Let's work together to make our community stronger.

We’ve got another exciting update! 🎉

YCRC is now officially approved on YourCause 💛

This means employees whose companies use YourCause for giving can now:
✔ Donate directly through their workplace
✔ Set up recurring payroll donations
✔ Have their gifts matched by their employer

This is a big step for us because it opens the door for more sustainable, long-term support as we continue building the Yavapai Community Resource Center.

If your company uses YourCause, you can now find us there and support what we’re building right here in Yavapai County.

And if you’re not sure—check with your employer! A lot of companies offer matching programs that can double your impact.

We’re continuing to build a shared space where nonprofits, educators, and community groups can access the space and resources they need to serve others—and support like this helps make that possible.

We've got BIG news!!!

YCRC is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! 💛🎉

This is a HUGE milestone for us and honestly feels like a big step forward in making this whole vision real.

It also means:
✔ Donations are now tax-deductible
✔ We can start applying for more grants
✔ And we can move forward with a lot more momentum

If you’re newer here, what we’re building is pretty simple:
A shared space where nonprofits, homeschool groups, youth programs, and community organizations can actually have a place to meet, access resources, and work together.

Because right now… a lot of amazing programs are limited by things like:
• not having consistent space
• paying out-of-pocket for supplies
• or just trying to figure it all out on their own

And they shouldn’t have to.

Now that we have our 501(c)(3), we’re moving into the next phase:
👉 growing our fundraising
👉 applying for grants
👉 building partnerships
👉 working toward opening our doors

Our whole model is built around community support—so that nonprofits and youth programs can use the space without cost being the barrier.

If you’ve been following along, sharing posts, commenting, or just cheering this on—thank you. Seriously.

And if you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to get involved… this is a really good one 💛

Here’s the donation link for anyone who asked 💛
https://givebutter.com/founding-the-ycrc

Every bit helps us get closer to opening a shared space for the community.

We’re building this together—and it’s starting to feel real.

Shared Space. Shared Resources. Stronger Community.
