We are volunteers, working with the city of Poulsbo and community to design and build a new covered modern concrete skatepark in Poulsbo, WA that promotes active fitness, community, arts, and sustainability for today and future generations! We are a group of residents and volunteers from Poulsbo and the greater Kitsap Community who are working with the City of Poulsbo to create a new covered moder

n concrete skatepark. Our effort is dedicated to creating a new skatepark that provides today and future generations of Poulsbo and Kitsap County residents both young and aged with a professionally built modern concrete skatepark with a roof enabling year-round use and activity! Looking at examples from across the region, nation, and world cities are realizing the benefit of unstructured recreation places like skateparks that serve a wide variety of park users from skateboards, skaters, scooters, bikes and become some of the most used recreation facilities in many communities. We are also conscious that if we're going to build something for the public it should demonstrate the best-in-class forms of stewardship and be inspired by the place: so we are also imagining that the park and the roof collects rainwater that could help irrigate native plantings, the architecture of the roof and structure could include artistic panels inspired by local tribes and even nordic motifs, and the parking lot could use Low Impact Development strategies to do the most good possible in terms of treating storm water onsite and creating pollinator habitat. Additionally, a park that is built with a roof, would ensure that in this climate and region, residents can remain active year-round and promote an activity that boosts health and wellness such as aerobic, intensity, and cardiovascular benefits! With this vision the future Poulsbo Skatepark would be a place that promotes active fitness and recreation, becomes a cherished community destination, and offers a place for life-long multi-generational activity and health and wellness. Our group is partnered with Crossroads Rotary of Poulsbo as our Fiscal Sponsor and our volunteer coalition is partnered with the City of Poulsbo Parks Commission. Together, we are working towards selecting a site, applying for State RCO Grants, and rolling out community engagement and events to bring people together and celebrate the vision we have for a future Poulsbo Skatepark.

Legendary Kitsap based skate company Firexside supporting the local skate scene from day one! All the way back to Our World and the OG gateway park in silverdale. Now we have an updated park to enjoy for a few more years. Rad to see all the skaters and new generation out there.

Cheers to the new spot to ride!

Our community sees the need and value in skateparks; and showed up to help get us something to ride for the next couple of years.

We have the demonstrated support, interest, and even more momentum and enthusiasm as seen in the almost $30,000 that was raised by donation at zero cost to City of Poulsbo - City Hall.

As we have and will continue to do so, we are committed to advocating for a year-round, concrete park with lights so generations of Poulsbo and Kitsap residents can ride and stay active year-round!

Having the ramps at raab done is a meaningful demonstration and example to help us move forward!

Let’s roll!

Stoked seeing all ages and all skills come together from the older generation to next generation at the ramps at raab! There's tremendous value in public skateparks and we continue to work towards the long term goal of having a permanent concrete park with a covering and lights so we can ride as a community year-round! The next effort is to work towards that goal with this ramp rebuild effort being complete.

Until the next event, cruise down to the park, enjoy all the new ramps as much as you can before the rain and darker days hit.

We have deep gratitude for the community support, effort, and labor that went into making these ramps and it shows how authentic the desire, need, and interest in skateparks is here in Poulsbo!

Cheers!
