✨ Four years ago today our late director was in post-production for “I’m Taking Off,” our PSA/Video for Teen Dating Violence Awareness month.

✨ Meca brought excellence, professionalism and her whole heart to set, it was so infectious to our youth and crew. As a graduate of our local BOCES/Trades program, she showed what was possible coming from our hometown and returned to her hometown as an alumna to give back.

✨ A little over a year later Meca passed away
which was a huge loss to our organization, community and childhood friend group who grew up together.

✨ As this memory came across our timeline and we returned from Atlanta, her resting place, this evening, I am reminded that the journey of the Love Quest has been full of ups and downs.

✨ We give our flowers in real time to everyone we work with because we are grateful and are fully aware that we never know when it will be the last time we will have an opportunity to.

✨ The journey, mission and thank you’s continue.

“A Future Built On Mentorship”

Research shows that what is needed in the world right now is mentorship and human connection.

1 out of 3 youth don’t have a positive mentor.

1 out of 3 teens/individuals experience intimate partner violence.

The Love Quest Foundation combines arts and culture immersive workforce development with lived experience to provide credible mentorship with our partner organizations and more

“I am grateful for the mentors and elders who took the time out and continue to take the time to pour into me so I can continue to pour into others.”-founder Josayne Anderson-Tejera

💜 Thank you to Support, Advocacy, and Violence Prevention Office for having us table for Domestic Violence Awareness Month yesterday to share our resources about our organization and services with our partner organization

💜We enjoyed engaging with the students and staff in the College Center. Awareness and prevention is key to eliminate statistics and stigmas surrounding all forms of intimate partner violence especially on college campus where our mission is aligned.

💜 Day 2 of our HBCU and College tour in the DMV.

💙 One of our alumni participants shared her real time freshman experience and beamed with Bison pride as our youth participants were engaged learning about the 101’s and cultural traditions. Thank you very much!!!

🩶 We also visited our youth took in all the architecture and all the sites from the library to the gym and participated in hands-on activities.

🤍 Overall they had a great time and an eye-opening experience while seeing the stark differences of both locations to make an informed decision for their futures.

❤️ Our youth participants learn about our origin story that occurred on campus so they are equipped to identify healthy relationships, red flags and warning signs especially when they are away from home and on their own for the first time.

🧡 Thank you to for your continued partnership Charitable Foundation for your community giving to help make this possible and Dr Lee for joining us today and encouraging everyone.
