Great day! I have tomatoes on my mind! More importantly, the Baking Soda and how it's used to help the chemistry of the soil.

Baking soda can support tomato plant health by reducing pests, controlling fungal diseases, and adjusting soil pH, but it must be used sparingly. Learn the safest ways to apply it for better-tasting tomatoes.

I used to leave beds empty between crops 😅 A few succession planting tips that helped me get more from the same space:
🌱 Start with fast spring crops like radishes, peas, and greens while the weather is still cool.
☀️ Move into warm-season crops once the soil warms up, like beans, cucumbers, squash, or tomatoes.
🍂 Plan your fall crop before summer is over so you’re not scrambling when space opens up.
🧺 Check the “days to maturity” on seed packets before planting. That one little number makes planning so much easier.
🌿 If a crop finishes early, don’t waste that open soil. Add compost and replant something that fits the season.
A little planning can turn one bed into way more food than you’d expect.

Thank you to The Hill School Community Service students for helping clean up Walnut St with Walnut St Tree Huggers! We appreciate their hard work. We would like to organize a major sweep for Walnut St from Hanover to Manatawny due to an extreme amount of Sweet Gum pods littering the street and drainage areas. Hobart's Run has been a huge advocate of beatification projects in our neighborhood and we appreciate the work they are doing to encourage students to get involved with these community initiatives.
