The burn ban has been extended. We are still under drought conditions and fire departments across the county are stretched thin. Multiple structure fires occured over the last week that started from burning trash in a barrel. It is not safe OR NECESSARY to burn right now. Tickets are being issued for illegal burns during the ban.

When the tones drop and someone in our community is having one of the worst days of their life, our firefighters show up. They leave their families, their dinners, their beds, their jobs—whatever they’re doing—to go help someone else.

Recently, Murry Spur Fire Chief Hambright and his family lost their entire home to a fire.

Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

The Murry Spur Fire Department is hosting a benefit for Chief Hambright and his family at the Choctaw Community Center in Spiro.

Pulled pork sandwich, chips & drink
11:00 AM until SOLD OUT
Dine-in or carry-out

And there will be homemade desserts available for purchase separately, so come hungry.

Chief Hambright has spent his time serving and protecting his community. Losing your home and everything inside it is something no family should have to go through, and this is one of those times when we get the chance to remind someone who is always there for everybody else that his community is here for him too.

Come grab lunch. Buy a dessert (or three, we don't judge). Make a donation if you can. And most importantly, come show Chief Hambright and his family just how much this community supports them.

Please share this and help us get the word out.

They spend their lives showing up for us. Let’s show up for them. ❤️
