Steven A. Hunter Hope Fund Steven A Hunter Hope Fund provides goods, services, & resources for financially challenged school children in Scioto & surrounding counties.

The Steven A Hunter Hope Fund was established January 2006 in memory of Steven A Hunter. Steven was loved by all who knew him. Steven’s enthusiasm was contagious and his compassion inspires us all. Steven had a strong conviction to help those in need, rooted in his strong Christian faith. The goal of the Steven A Hunter Hope Fund is to provide goods, services, and funds for the benefit of the stud

ents of the Portsmouth City Schools with financial needs. Poverty can have a devastating effect on the ability of children to learn and achieve. The fund provides for shoes, coats, clothing, school supplies, college entrance exam and ACT/SAT fees, lab fees, field trip/excursion fees, tutoring, limited eye or dental exams & treatment, etc. The goal has been broadened to offer services to additional schools as well through Steven's Power Pack Program. This program provides food for the weekend for hungry children. Two funds have been established to accomplish these goals: The Steven A Hunter Hope Fund, Inc. and the Steven A Hunter Hope Fund of the Scioto Foundation.

HopeFest 2026 was fantastic! Thank you Freestore Foodbank, Cornerstone Portsmouth, and all of our wonderful volunteers❤️. Almost 4500 lbs of food and hundreds of shoes, school supplies, & backpacks.Steven A. Hunter Hope Fund is honored to be a part of this annual back2school event❤️

If you need help with back to school, remember HopeFest at Cornerstone Church tomorrow morning, Saturday Aug 15, 9 to 12 or until supplies last.😀👍🏻. Steven’s Hope Fund will be there with food!

This year's Hopefest at Cornerstone is on Saturday, August 15th beginning at 9:00AM. This will be our 10th annual community back-to-school giveaway. Items handed out include shoes, t-shirts, school supplies, hygiene products and power packs. There will also be a prayer tent, free food, face painting and haircuts.
PLEASE NOTE: Children receiving items- MUST be in attendance and all items distributed on a first come- first serve basis.
