Neurodivergent and q***r. For many in our community, these are not separate identities — they are deeply intertwined. 🌈🏳️‍🌈💚

Research shows significantly higher rates of LGBTQ+ identity among Autistic and ADHD communities. Masking looks different when you are navigating both.

This Pride Month, we are holding space for all of it.

What a May it has been. 🌿

This month reminded us what community can look like when people show up for each other — in conversations, in support, in learning, and in celebration. As we close out May, we’re carrying that momentum with us into June and all the way toward the Bash and the kids’ Disneyland journey ahead. 💚

Here’s what we built together this month:
→ Launched the Squirrel Steps Self-ID beta ahead of the June rollout
→ Hosted incredible conversations with Mirna Mejia, Rachel Radway, and Rosa Neves in our Mental Health Access Month speaker series
→ Gathered our community through local events and meet-ups in Portland
→ Sent out the June newsletter and community updates
→ Officially opened the End of Summer Bash campaign
→ Launched registration, BOTH sponsorship menus, and Jasmine’s ND Troupe Disneyland Performance Fund ✨

And this is only the beginning.

From now through August, we’re building toward something bigger:
🎉 The End of Summer Bash on August 22 in Grapevine, TX
🎭 Helping Jasmine’s ND Troupe get to Disneyland to perform
🌰 Growing the Acorn Fund to continue community programs, coaching scholarships, Safety Cards, and ND support initiatives

Here’s how you can be part of it:
💚 Donate to the Acorn Fund
🎭 Support the Disneyland Troupe Fund
🌟 Become a sponsor through our Corporate or Event sponsorship pathways
🏢 Bring Squirrel Space into your workplace through trainings, ND learning events, or workplace audits

One shared campaign.
One $50K goal across May–August.
One community continuing to grow together.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We can’t wait to show you what June brings. 💚

These are the moments community support makes possible 💙🏰

Jasmine’s Beat® ND Dance Troupe is heading to Disneyland — creating space for neurodivergent kids to perform, express themselves, and be celebrated exactly as they are.

We’re honored to support this journey and help these dancers get to the stage.

If you’d like to support the Bash campaign and help cover travel, meals, and performance needs for these incredible kids and families, please check out the original post below 👇

🎭 Meet the kids going to Disneyland.

Jasmine's Beat® ND Dance Troupe has been invited to perform at Disneyland. A real performance. On a real schedule. By a group of neurodivergent kids, in front of strangers, in a sensory‑intense environment — together.

For most of these kids, “performance” meant masking. It meant trying to look like something they weren’t. Jasmine’s troupe is flipping that.
→ They dance as themselves.
→ They stim on stage.
→ They take breaks when their nervous systems need them.
→ And the audience stays anyway.

We need to get them there. The Bash campaign is raising for two things — the Acorn Fund (our community programs) and this: flights for the kids, travel and meal stipends for the parents and guardians chaperoning them, and the gear they need for the performance.

✨ Every dollar brings these dancers closer to the stage — covering flights, meals, guardians’ travel, and the gear they need to shine.

Sunny weather, vintage finds, handmade creations, community games, and neurodivergent folks connecting with each other 💛

Our ND Vintage Clothing Meetup held last May 23 was full of small moments that mattered — conversations in the shade, people sharing interests, supporting each other’s creativity, and simply getting to exist without pressure.

Thank you to everyone who came by and helped make the space feel welcoming and joyful.

More community-centered events coming soon.
