Seats are still available for the Level 1 & Level 2 Course in Redmond, Oregon, the week of May 26-30, 2026.

Direct Action Vertical, an affiliate training institution, will be running an ISTRO Level 1 (Operator) and Level 2 (Technician) Tactical Rope Operations Courses delivered in 5 days. This is designed to give law enforcement officers an alternative safe solution to many situations, and to develop true vertical
mobility in a tactical situation, that is, an incident that involves a human antagonist, armed or unarmed.

The course will be held at the Direct Action Vertical Training Center located in Redmond, Oregon. Components of the class will also occur at the Bend Fire Department training tower, nearby fi****ms range, and Mt Bachelor ski resort.

An intense day of training took place in Salem, Oregon, during the ISTRO Level 1 Vertical Tactical Work (Operator) course.

During the training, participants practiced mobility and vertical work techniques applied to buildings, trees, and different types of terrain, developing the ability to adapt to complex operational environments, a key skill for any SWAT operator.

The program also included nighttime and low-visibility exercises, reinforcing decision-making, team coordination, and operational safety in demanding scenarios.

This type of training allows for the development of well-rounded operators, capable of performing effectively in different environments and tactical conditions.
