In two days, the Portland Criterium presented by Steeplejack Brewing will return to the streets of Portland! This exciting form of bicycle racing will thrill racers and spectators alike as the race speeds around the streets in excess of 30 mph. Bring the entire family to join us for two days of racing and car-free events that will feature some of the best athletes in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

What You Need to Know:
On-site registration opens at 10:00 AM (with a $10 surcharge if you register day-of). You'll need a current OBRA license or can grab a single-event license at registration. Cash out and stick around for the podium ceremonies.

Big news for the neighborhood: the Pearl District is featured in a brand-new book about what makes cities feel welcoming!

Designing Signals of Inclusion: A Framework for Fostering Shared Neighborhoods (Routledge, 2024) includes a full chapter on the Pearl, written by urban design expert George C. Galster of Wayne State University. The book looks at how design choices — big and small — help neighborhoods feel open and inclusive to everyone who lives in or visits them.

It's a nice bit of validation for all the work our community, businesses, and residents put into making the Pearl a place people want to be.
