Check out tomorrow's passport activities!

The Safer Together St. Johns Block Party kicks off tomorrow at 8 a.m. We’re not letting the weather get in the way (though clearly, we have bad luck), and neither should you!

While we’ll be in the plaza all day, there are some really cool places (more than 20) in town running some really fun activities that you should check out.

Every 5 stamps on your passport get you a raffle ticket. Turn in your passport by 8:00 p.m. for your tickets and chance(s) to win a $100 gift card to the St. Johns small business of your choice!

Download and print yours at home or the temporary library if you can. Otherwise, we’ll have copies in the plaza, which you can pick up anytime during the party tomorrow.

Due to the weather, we’ve had to make one update to the plaza schedule. St. Johns-based Blues artist Waxwing John will replace the youth orchestra.

We’ll have a 20’x10’ canopy in the plaza for cover all day, plus other pop-ups around. If you’re coming down and have a pop-up tent, bring it!

All activities are free and open to all. Except for the kid-friendly CrossFit class at 10:30 a.m., let's keep that for the little ones and their people.

Thanks to everyone who has already reached out with what they’re bringing. We're still looking for everyone to pitch in and bring a food dish, drinks, games, chairs, and more.

Let us know what you can bring so we can plan the block party space. https://forms.gle/srQfaJpqGBAdXG1d9

Additionally, shutting down the roads and organizing an event like this takes a lot of work. Please sign up for a two-hour volunteer shift. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A054AAEAE2BA13-57193844-sjna #/

Finally, we're running a SOLVE cleanup Sunday morning to ensure the plaza and the surrounding area are back better than how we found them. If you can spare an hour, please join us! Coffee and pastries will be provided. https://volunteer.solveoregon.org/opportunity/a0CVL00002AiLgx2AF/solve-at-johns

Plaza Schedule Unveiled! Plan Your Saturday!

The Safer Together St. Johns Block Party kicks off at 8 a.m. with a Greet the Day Movement Session led by Greacian G., who regularly teaches at the St. Johns Community Center.

After that, Bhakti Foster from Shanti Om Yoga will lead everyone through a yoga class beginning at 9:30 a.m. You’re encouraged to bring your own mat or towel to participate.

Madi from Blue House Fitness is kind enough to lead a kid-friendly CrossFit class starting at 10:30 a.m., which will round out our morning programming.

Once the class ends, things will look very much like a regular block party in the plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We’re talking music, games, food, and more.

At 4:30 p.m., the St. Johns Neighborhood Emergency Team will take the stage for a quick intro lesson to disaster preparedness and the threats unique to St. Johns.

We’ll cap it all off at 5:30 p.m. with a performance by a group of BRAVO Youth Orchestras Ambassadors.

After their serenade, we transition back to block party mode from 6:30 p.m. until we have to open Lombard back up at 9 p.m.

All activities are free and open to all. Except for the kid-friendly CrossFit class at 10:30 a.m., let's keep that for the little ones and their people.

We’ll release the passport activities on Thursday! Be on the lookout for that, and print yours at home or the temporary library if you can. Otherwise, we’ll have copies in the plaza you can pick up anytime during the party on Saturday.

We're still looking for everyone to pitch in and bring a food dish, drinks, games, chairs, a pop-up tent and more. It’s looking like it’ll be an Oregon block party with a decent chance of rain in the forecast, so prepare accordingly!

Again, we’ll unveil the passport activities on Thursday.

See you Saturday!
