In 2010 the Community Cycling Center began meeting with a group of North Portland residents to organize bicycle activities in their neighborhood. As the interest in bicycling continued to grow in New Columbia, so had the need for bike repair. The residents dreamed of having a space where they could store tools, bicycle parts, and equipment, while helping community members repair bikes with a profe
ssional mechanic. Once the need for bicycle related services became clear, the concept of The Repair Hub and Skills Park was born. What was once a vacant lot is a now a vibrant space for neighbors to learn, connect, and participate in healthy activities. The Repair Hub is a place where residents of New Columbia can access a service shop and book their bike in for repair or do it themselves with guidance, tools and parts as needed. Staffed by Community Cycling Center professional mechanics and volunteers, The Repair Hub is a great resource for the community.
