Founded in 1960 by a group of philanthropic women dedicated to supporting opera in Portland and all of Oregon, Portland Opera Guild has evolved into an organization that generously supports the work of the association, and also has a portfolio of unique responsibilities and events which it manages for Guild membership. From outstanding luncheons that explain the intricate details of each opera performance to acting as volunteers, Portland Opera Guild blends social time and networking with many other meaningful educational and philanthropic programs - the Guild has evolved into an information clearinghouse and ‘community foundation’ for all things opera in the state. An incredible way to end the Guild’s 65th program year - The Annual Meeting was a terrific crescendo featuring winners from POG’s Young Voices Northwest Competition. Special thanks to Luncheon Chair Maria Teresa Pietrok as well as an anonymous patron who sponsored the luncheon.
