Mechan 42: Space Traveler has officially clocked out. After holding court at Parkrose Hardware for the duration of the Festival (and then some), our favorite intergalactic visitor is packing it up and heading back home.

Safe travels, Space Traveler. Thanks for keeping an eye on Parkrose while you were here.

Seriously—can anyone tell us what’s actually happening here? 📸Amy Sakurai

Last call, light lovers.

We need just 12 more people to fill out the Portland Winter Light Festival survey before it closes.

Do it now, before the link disappears and you miss your shot at being entered to win two tickets on Alaska Airlines ✈️

It takes a few minutes.
It helps keep the Festival glowing.
And it could literally take you somewhere else.

We’re not quite ready to let the glow fade. A number of installations are staying lit through February and some through March, so the Festival spirit is still out there waiting for you on your next walk, coffee run, or night out.

At Waterfront Park, Cosmic Cuddle and Electric Dandelions will continue shining through late March. Swing by and soak them in while winter still has its hold.

Over at Big Pink, Fabled Passage is still welcoming visitors. While you’re there, step inside to spend a moment with Heron’s Embrace.

Across the city you’ll find light lingering in all kinds of corners:

Mechan 42 at Parkrose Hardware
Nautilus Deep Sea at Director Park
Golden Jubilee at Couch Park
A Thousand Tiny Currents at the James Beard Public Market
The Wanderette at The Nines
Chasing Rainbows at Sentinel Hotel
The Portland Gayborhood has relocated to Shattuck Hall at PSU

and a whole constellation of art in the Mississippi neighborhood; Spurrkland, Snippets, and Sweethearts.

You can also catch Porch Light at The Old Church, multiple works along the Justice Center Sidewalk Gallery plus that unforgettable octopus, giant monster and glass raindrops nearby, Books Are Lit at Lincoln High School, and Roboto Octopodo’s Diatomorama at The Newberry Building.

So keep your walking shoes on. The Festival may be over, but the light is still out there.

What’s still glowing? Get all the links on the landing page of our site! (link in first comment)

TOP 5 REASONS TO FILL OUT OUR SURVEY

5️⃣ Tens (possibly hundreds?) of thousands of people came out to the Festival. Only about 600 filled out the survey.
You could be one of the chosen few. The elite. The luminous.

4️⃣ Your odds of winning are now wildly better (winning what? See reason 1).

3️⃣ You love the Festival and want it to keep happening forever and ever and ever. This survey is one of the biggest ways you help make that happen.

2️⃣ Something at the Festival made you unexpectedly emotional.
A glowing bridge. A laughing kid. A giant weird art thing. Tell us about it so we can do more of that.

2️⃣ Also your face hurt from smiling so much. We call that “scientific evidence of joy.”

1️⃣ You’ll be entered to win TWO tickets on Alaska Airlines ✈️
Which means this survey could literally take you somewhere warm and dry.

Fill it out. Be a hero. Link in comments.
