Explore free light-based art, immersive sculpture, performances & participatory events citywide each February. The 9th annual Portland Winter Light Festival is February 2 - 10, 2024. The Portland Winter Light Festival (a Willamette Light Brigade event), is a free, all-ages, community-wide celebration illuminating the city's public spaces with installations by premier light artists and designers. If someone tries to sell you tickets, say NO!

Portland joins cities across the country in remembering Dolly Parton. Continuing tonigh, we're lighting the Morrison Bridge in pink for five nights, August 26 through 29, in her honor.

Dolly's voice, generosity and spirit touched people far beyond country music, and we're glad to add Portland's light to the tributes happening nationwide.

Look up and share it with someone who loved her.

This is from our FIRST YEAR! Wow, feeling a little nostalgic seeing this. We started off strong, and we never stopped, and here we are, planning our 12th Festival. WOW!

The Morrison Bridge Lighting Program transforms one of Portland’s most iconic pieces of infrastructure into an ongoing platform for visual civic dialogue and public art. If you love the Portland Winter Light Festival, you already know what matters to this community: light, art and shared experiences that bring people together after dark. Today, we’re excited to share that the organization behind the Festival has a new name: Nightlab

Nightlab is the new name for the nonprofit formerly known as the Willamette Light Brigade. The new identity reflects the broader work of the organization behind the Light Festival, from the Morrison Bridge Lighting Program to the Illuminate Bridge City initiative and the Light-Based Public Art Program.
