A small group of hOurExchange members enjoyed pizza and very lively conversation at the Immigrant Welcome Center Wednesday night, November 8. After sampling a variety of pizzas, the one with butternut squash, ricotta and cranberries was determined the fave. Our meal was topped off with dilly beans, purple grapes, and homemade chocolate cake. One topic of discussion was how to recruit younger members, and Katie Delcourt had some great ideas which will be passed on to the Board.
Danielle King, Director of Finance, Operations, and HR for the IWC, stopped in to tell us about the organization’s impressive programs, all designed to give New Mainers a good start: ESOL classes (including a very busy language lab), community engagement, information on food sources and nutrition, career development, and much more! www.welcomeimmigrant.org
