Portage WI Weekend Snack Packs The Portage Weekend Snack Program is providing kids with the fuel they need to learn and grow and develop into healthy members of our community.

The Portage Child Hunger Committee which currently administers a summer lunch program is expanding to weekends during the school year by providing weekend snack packs to students at risk for hunger. Nearly 50% of the students in Portage elementary schools are eligible for free or reduced lunch program which helps assure that they do not go hungry during the school day. But weekends can be tough wi

thout the food delivered through the school breakfast and lunch programs. This is a community effort to make sure that our school children get the nutritional resources they need to do well in school.
