When community conversations get difficult, we see the same tactics employed by elected officials to silence the voices of those most affected. Limiting public comments, asking blue collar workers to fill seats and consume limited speaking opportunities, and increasing police presence to intimidate concerned residents.

Grayslake, IL is at roughly the same place with public opposition as Port Washington was 6 months ago, and the response is eerily similar. Their village board meeting last night was packed with union workers in an effort to water down the voices of the community.

This was the start of something bigger than any of us. What happened in West Wisconsin this weekend wasn’t just an event, it was the beginning of a regional movement. A huge shout out to Blaine Halverson for the vision that made this possible. And to our friends at GROWW, you are excellent partners and strong allies. We are stronger together. Cloverleaf Infrastructure is trying to give Wrightstown the Port Washington treatment with a hyperscale AI data center deal. But residents there aren't waiting for an official proposal to hit the open meetings notices, by which time it will be too late to stop. Concerned residents are attempting to use direct legislation to enact a moratorium to protect their community.

We had an amazing night in Eau Claire last night. Huge shout out to all the amazing volunteers and people that put in so much to organizing this event!
