This week T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park's turtle team documented the first Green sea turtle nest laid for the 2026 season!🐢

It's not too late to adopt your own nest in the park. Visit: https://www.friendsofstjosephstateparks.com/page-18241 By adopting a nest, you directly support Friends of St. Joseph State Parks with preserving and protecting the park's natural and cultural resources.

You can help nesting sea turtles, hatchlings, shorebirds, and each other by keeping the beach clean, flat, and dark!

Want to camp in the park this Summer? For the months of June &/or July the park is looking for a motivated individual or couple to volunteer 24 hours of service (per week) in exchange for a full hookup campsite in the park! It was a beautiful day for the 10th Annual Sea Turtle Festival. Thank you Florida Coastal Conservancy & the Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Center for another great event we could be apart of! Ranger Hannah, Volunteer Monique, & Vinny the Volunteer Eagle made many connections, smiles, and memories today! 💚🐢🏝️🦅☀️

Free admission this weekend! 🇺🇸🏝️ Gate opens at 8 AM EST & closes at Sundown. Re-entry may not be permitted if the park reaches full capacity! Carpool if you can! 😎

Florida State Parks are free during Memorial Day Weekend!

Florida State Parks will offer free admission for most parks from May 23-25, inviting visitors to enjoy the outdoors while honoring those who gave their lives in service to the United States as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.

Free admission applies to day-use only and excludes Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife, Skyway Fishing Pier, Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center and Weeki Wachee Springs state parks.

Heading to the park for the *free admission* holiday weekend? 🐢🇺🇸
Remember these to help protect our park's coastal wildlife:
🚤 While boating, be aware of surfacing/mating sea turtles and other marine life
🎆 Beach bonfires and fireworks are not allowed in the park
🚫 Do not disturb nesting sea turtles or flush shorebirds. Refrain from entering marked bird nesting areas and sand dunes
👣 Leave Only Footprints: remove all personal belongings, furniture, and trash from the beach each evening before dark
⚠️ Holes on the beach are hazardous for people and wildlife. Fill in holes and flatten sandcastles at the end of your beach day

The park and all its wildlife thanks you for being a good beach goer!

Fill in your holes, knock down your sandcastles, take all your trash with you, and don't leave anything on the beach after sunset! 🏝️🐢💚
