Centre Wildlife Care (CWC) is a 501c3, non-profit organization, dedicated to caring for injured, orphaned, sick and displaced wildlife to release them back into the wild. Hours are by appointment. We could use some flat newspaper (and shredded paper) for lining animal enclosures. If you can help out, you can drop them off at Centre Wildlife Care any day 8 am to 8 pm. If you could remove all the shiny stuff, that would be great. Thank you all for your ongoing support.

Join us Friday nights in June for dinner. This Friday see Bobbles the barred owl in person from 4-8. You don't need to be a member to join us for dinner. Just ring the door bell and they will let you in. We will be also having a basket raffle and a 50/50. All proceeds benefit CWC. Remember CWC operates ONLY on donations. Any contribution helps!

**UPDATE 6/13/26 These hatchlings are actually Merlins, a type of falcon. They often use cooper's hawk nests. We are in the process of finding a foster mama now so they don't imprint on humans.
**UPDATE... Mama did not come back based on camera surveillance by the Game Commission. Most of the time renesting works, but in this case, it did not. Warden Dan Murray and the Alpha Fire Company retrieved all five babies and brought them back to CWC. Let me just say that this was a wonderful opportunity to collaborate. Even though the re-nesting did not work out, it was a great to work together. Thank you to all involved!
---------------------
It really does take a village, and today was one of those special days where we were able to renest a clutch of hatchling Merlins (not hawks). Merlins will use cooper's hawks nests. We must give a shout out to Alpha fire company, the land owner and warden Dan Murray for organizing everything.

We received these hatchling merlins (a type of falcon) a few days ago, after the tree that their nest was in, had to be cut down just across the street. The original nest and the babies were brought to our veterinary hospital Keystone Veterinary Care. We then picked them up and brought them to CWC for evaluation and a little food in their belly.

Today they were reneested just across the street from where they were found. The original nest was preserved and placed in a new tree.

We are watching them today and hoping mama comes back to care for the babies. If it doesn't work out, everyone is standing at the ready to retrieve the babies and bring back to center Centre Wildlife Care.

We are holding are breath hoping mama comes back.

If you like what we do, remember we operate only on donations.

We are getting our baby mallards released. These are just some of the orphaned mallards ducklings that we admitted this spring and summer that were orphaned. We keep them several weeks until they're old enough to be released back out to the wild, and then we find appropriate release sites on private property. Enjoy this lovely little video. A special thank you to Karen, Marion and Jane for arranging for release. And of course, thank you to all of the CWC staff for caring for all of these lovely little ducklings, until they grew up into beautiful mallards... This is what it's all about, and it really does take a village.
