UPADTE! 🐾💨 Wishlist Wednesday – Help Keep Our Shelter Dogs Cool! 💨🐾

**We have two fans now….we are requesting TWO more…..
A very generous donor recently gifted our shelter one of these 24" Commercial Electric Drum Fans, and it has already made a tremendous difference for our dogs! ❤️

The fan helps provide extra cooling for individual dogs when needed and can even help cool an entire row of kennels during our hottest days.

With four rows of dogs at the shelter, we would love to add TWO more fans so we can keep even more of our pups comfortable throughout the long Texas summer. ☀️🐶

🌡️ With the South Texas heat and heat index values expected to climb above 100°, we are doing everything we can to keep our shelter dogs as comfortable as possible.

Volunteer needed! Folding the laundry!

We are seeking a Volunteer that can come in once a week to help us fold and sort laundry. Friday is the preferred day, but we are gonna be flexible.

UPDATE!! Wishlist Wednesday

Thank you to a donor for one of the fans!!! Your generosity is so appreciated!!

Two kind donors gifted the shelter dogs these fans from home depot. They are working great to spot cool a few dogs when needed or to cool a whole row of dogs at times.

We have four rows of dogs. We would really love another TWO fans, ultimately.

Can anybody donate a fan or two to us?

Thank you so much for your consideration. Heat index is supposed to be 110 to 120 degrees tomorrow according to the local news forecast. The dogs will be okay but want to make shelter conditions even more comfortable for the dogs as we get deeper into summer.

New program at the shelter!🤩 Weekends Away

We are piloting a home visit/home stay program for our shelter dogs. As you know, the dogs at the shelter are often in their kennels for extended amounts of time. They have random visitors and random treats. They get outdoor time to run and play, but they never really get an opportunity to be in a home or a yard where it's peaceful and more interesting. We want to see if we can change that.

Weekends Away is open to the public. We are looking for fosters or volunteers who want to bring one of our dogs home for a night or for the weekend, let them relax a little in a home environment, maybe go to Starbucks or DQ and get a pup-cup, maybe go for a walk in a local park. Watch a movie with them! Give them a few popcorns. Fry up a piece of bacon just for them.

We feel this will be beneficial to the dogs, but we also think it will give people the opportunity to do something nice for an animal that is less fortunate. Maybe you can't adopt, but you can have them visit for a night or two. Maybe you want to adopt and have a dog in mind....this can be your trial run.

Please message or give us a call....or come by the shelter! Let us know if you're interested, ask us some questions. This is new for us, too, so we expect to work out some kinks as we go.
