“Hello from Lesotho! Our past 5 weeks here have been nothing short of incredible but also some of the most impactful and eye opening experiences so far. But through each challenge we’ve faced, God has continued to strengthen us and show us His beauty over and over again,” Emilie (), 6-Minth Africa IMMERSION missions program.

“I am so thankful for an amazing team I have to lean on and all the joy we get to share together! A few of the areas we’ve been able to serve in the past couple weeks: We’ve gotten to take turns leading the devotions in the morning. It’s been such a great time of discussion and learning more about the bible together. A few of the students here never grew up going to church and for some it’s their first time reading the Bible, so it has been a huge blessing seeing God work in them and their desire to learn and share more. We’ve also gotten to tackle a few painting projects, planting carrots, and harvesting some of the biggest sweet potatoes and beets I’ve ever seen in my life! We spent most of this past week canning beets which Growing Nations hands out to friends and people from all over their community. A big highlight though has been being able to spend time with the kids at the school. We’ve played a lot of volleyball and duck, duck, goose. One of the little girls even showed us how to weave bracelets out of onion grasses.

If there’s one thing I’ve been learning lately it’s to look for God in all the little moments. With Lesotho being a much slower paced culture, we never quite know what our day is going to look like. But God has been showing me that whether we’re all sitting around the fire at night (getting handed more corn to eat:)), or playing spoons together, or learning to weave onion grass bracelets, or digging trenches, even then God is working. Lesotho is beautiful, but one of my favorite things has been all the rainbows we’ve seen (At least a couple every week!) And it’s been such a reminder of the way I’m able to place my full trust in Him alone with every new day He gives me here!”

“Serving in Costa Rica was such a blessing! I learned to appreciate the beautiful world God created! Here the people say “Pura Vida” which means “pure life”. Through them, I’ve learned how to live joyfully, genuinely, and with simplicity. The Lord has given us so much here on earth and I want to enjoy all of it!

In these 2.5 months I was blessed with meeting some of the kindest people, making life long friends, playing fútbol, drinking plenty of Coca-Cola and coffee, rainy days, UV 12, swimming in rivers, fresh fruit, beautiful plants, lots of walks, hundreds of bug bites, hard work, endless jokes, mountain views, rides in the truck bed, and an unbelievable amount of growth.

Thank you to everyone who prayed and supported me during my time in Costa Rica. I greatly appreciate it🤍”

“God does His most beautiful work between the first hello and the last hug,”

- Hanna (.grace17), 3-Month South Africa IMMERSION team

“Vastfontein, South Africa, is a place unlike any other—one that words could never fully capture. The impact it has had on my heart is deeper than I ever expected.

This place and these people have taught me to slow down, to be present, and to live with true intention in the way I serve and love others.

The joy, kindness, and genuine love these children carry is something I have never experienced before.
Who would have thought that God would use a group of 4th and 5th graders to leave such a lasting mark on my life? God’s plans will never cease to amaze me.

I will miss the children, the staff, and every corner of this special place. I will miss the hugs each morning, the contagious laughter, the dancing, the soccer games, worshiping side by side, the sweet conversations, and the simple gift of watching them learn and grow each day.

And maybe that’s the beauty of it all-the ache of leaving proves just how deeply you were planted there.

‘The first community isn’t behind you but has become apart of you and the fact that’s it’s hard to leave isn’t failure but it’s fruit.’

Pieces of my heart will remain in Vastfontein with every person I had the privilege of knowing. These will be memories I hold onto for a lifetime!

Thank You, Jesus, for the way You used this place and these people to shape my heart and grow me closer to You. I will always be grateful—for every moment, every smile, and every person!

“From the very moment I landed [in South Africa], God has been moving in ways I never expected,”

- Lyneda (), 6-Month Africa IMMERSION team

“Over these past three weeks, I’ve had the honor of serving at Vastfontein Community School, and it has been one of the most life changing experiences of my life. I came here thinking I was going to pour into others, to love on the kids and be a light. But what I didn’t expect was how much they would pour into me.

The children here are some of the most joyful, resilient, faith filled kids I have ever met. Their smiles carry so much strength. Their laughter brings so much light. Even in the middle of challenges, they choose joy. Even in hard situations, they choose faith. Watching them worship, pray, and love one another has completely changed my perspective on what true, Godly love looks like.

They’ve taught me that love is patient. Love is forgiving. Love shows up every single day. They’ve taught me that it’s okay to trust again, that even when life hasn’t been easy, God is still good. They’ve reminded me to have childlike faith, simple, bold, and full of hope.

Every hug, every story, every playground moment, every prayer we prayed together, I will carry with me forever. These kids are no longer just faces in a classroom. They are part of my heart now.

I have one week left in this community, and I already feel how hard it will be to say goodbye. But I trust that the same God who brought me here is the same God who will continue to work in their lives long after I leave.

I am forever changed by this place, by these people, and by the way God has shown up here. This will always be a beautiful chapter in the story He is writing for my life. 🇿🇦❤️!”
