We are back home & Remi has continued his oral chemo routine

His ANC (huge part of immune system) took a dip last week which was super unexpected, but also very common during the maintenance phase. Thankfully, it came back up on its own before he had to start oral chemo, which keeps us right on track!

The way his body responds to treatment is so fascinating, he is so resilient
One week his counts look concerning, and the next they rebound on their own. Maintenance is such a balancing act, but we are so grateful to still be moving forward!

This event was created by the incredibly generous Jenny Borroughs to honor Remi’s journey while also giving back to local families facing medical hardships. Each year, a different recipient is chosen, making this event such a special way to continue supporting others in our community.

Today’s post-infusion adventure: COSI

There’s something so special about getting to watch Remi be a little boy after long clinic days. Watching him run around, explore, play, and laugh outside of hospital walls. It’s such a gift!!!

Yesterday was a slower, quieter kind of day for us 🤍

After dinner, we grabbed ice cream & visited the terrace before the storm rolled in. The wind picked up, the sky got darker, and for a little while we just looked out. The calm moments during treatment weeks end up meaning the most.

Sometimes the smallest moments end up meaning the most🥹

Today during infusion, Remi spotted a crew working on the roof outside the windows at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He got SO excited and started waving at them through the glass.

They all waved back… and one of them even blew him a kiss😭 Remi immediately blew one back with the biggest smile on his face!

Such a tiny interaction, but it completely made his day. Thank you for being so kind to a little boy going through so much. 🤍
