College students regularly navigate classrooms, campus events, extracurricular activities, transportation systems, and other environments with varying levels of noise exposure—often without much education surrounding potential hearing risks. This investigation examined noise characteristics across multiple campus settings and explored how cumulative exposure may relate to hearing conservation and noise-induced hearing loss awareness among young adults.

📣 EAA is accepting applications for the Noel D. Matkin Grant!

Named in honor of Dr. Noel Matkin, a leader and mentor who helped advance pediatric audiology and educational audiology, these grants support projects related to audiology services in educational settings.

EAA members who are practitioners or students are encouraged to apply for funding for both research and non-research projects.

💡 Grant awards are available for up to $2,000.

Named in honor of Frederick S. Berg, a pioneer in the educational audiology profession, this prestigious award recognizes an audiologist who has made significant national contributions through research, service, and/or advocacy in educational and/or pediatric audiology.

📚 From establishing educational audiology as a specialty to training professionals in service to deaf and hard of hearing students, Fred Berg’s legacy continues to shape educational audiology today.
