Happy Summer Solstice. ☀️🌈

Today marks the longest day of the year.

As Pride Month continues, we're reminded that pride takes many forms.

Pride in who we are.
Pride in the communities we're building.
And pride in the places we call home.

We are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. Mountains, forests, beaches, rivers, lavender fields, and open skies all within reach.

So today, I hope you get outside.

🚶‍♂️Take a walk.
☀️ Watch a sunset.
🌊 Jump in the water.
💐 Visit a local farm.
🧾 Support a local business.

Pride Month may be June, but pride, belonging, and community are things worth celebrating all year long. So, soak in a little extra daylight and a little extra gratitude, and remember that belonging isn't just something we find in community. It's something we find in place, too.

Missed Q***r + Trans Yoga on the Pier this past Sunday?

Join Heather Sky of Rebelution Yoga + Wellness this Saturday for a special Summer Solstice Yoga + Cider event at the stunning Olympic Bluff Cidery & Lavender Farm.

We'll meet among the lavender fields for yoga, locally crafted small-batch cider, and expansive views across the Strait as we welcome the arrival of summer.

And for those wondering if Q***r + Trans Yoga was a one-time Pride event, Heather will continue offering Q***r + Trans Yoga throughout the summer on a monthly basis, by donation (details to come).

Part of the vision for this offering is to partner with local farms, gathering spaces, and event properties that are committed to creating welcoming environments for LGBTQIA2S+ folks and allies. This creates opportunities for connection while highlighting some of the incredible places that make the Olympic Peninsula so special.

I'll be kicking off Pride on the Pier this year with Q***r + Trans Yoga, and I couldn't be more honored.

One of the things I love most about yoga is that it gives us a place to arrive exactly as we are. No performance. No expectation. No need to be anything other than ourselves.

Join me at noon for an all-levels practice rooted in breath, movement, community, and belonging under the Observation Tower on the Port Angeles Pier.

Whether yoga is already part of your life or you've never stepped onto a mat before, I'm looking forward to practicing alongside you.

There are plenty of reasons to come to Pride on the Pier...

The music.
The drag.
The vendors.
The food.
The family activities.

But honestly?

One of our favorite things is watching people run into each other.

Old friends.
New friends.
People who haven't seen each other in years.
People who are just meeting for the first time.

For a few hours, the waterfront becomes a place where our community gets to gather, celebrate, and be visible together.

And that's pretty dang special.

Whether you're dancing in front of the stage, singing along with friends, or discovering your new favorite local performer, we've got enough entertainment to keep the energy high all afternoon long.

Come for the lineup. Stay for the yoga, vendors, food, family activities, Pride Patio, and all the unexpected moments that make Pride feel like Pride.

Pride comes in all shapes and sizes.

And that includes family-sized.

🎨 Sometimes Pride looks like sidewalk chalk on little hands.
🫧 Or bubbles floating across the pier.
👭 Or a kid proudly introducing you to their two moms.

While Pride has always been for everyone, we're excited to include family-friendly activities throughout Pride on the Pier this year, including crafts, lawn games, bubbles, and more.

Because some of the best Pride memories are made while simply having fun together.
