Brule River Riders Snowmobile Club

Brule River Riders Snowmobile Club Brule River Riders Snowmobile Club is a family oriented club responsible for maintaining and grooming the northeast quarter of Douglas County Wisconsin

The Brule River Riders Snowmobile Club (BRR) is a family oriented club that was formed in Brule, Wisconsin on September 24, 1988. The club was formed by several members of the Superior Storm Riders, who resided out in the Brule area. Our first club-owned groomer was a Bombi and was purchased in early winter of 1991 which served us well up through the mid-1990’s grooming local club trails. On Janua

ry 1, 1993, we entered into contract grooming and maintenance through the Northwest Trails Association. Our area was Trail 4 from Brule to the north junction of Trails 4 and 41. The next year we started grooming Trail 27/27A in the Brule River State Forest. In 1995 we contracted with the Tri-County Corridor Commission to groom Trail 2 from Brule to Superior. Our club is responsible for grooming 120 miles of trail and fully maintaining 90 of those 120 miles. The area that we are responsible for is basically the northeast quarter of the county, including the Tri-County Corridor into the eastern edge of Superior. Over the years the club has also owned a Bombardier SV 252 and a 1994 Gilbert. Our present fleet is a 2011 6430 John Deere 4WD tractor and two 2000 Sur Tracs (TS 110 New Holland tractors retrofitted with tracks).

Trail Condition Report

The county received rain and 2-6 inches of fresh heavy snow across the county since last week. The trail conditions vary widely across the county with some areas still reporting great conditions while others reporting exposed ground with no snow cover. It seems the trail in the north half of the county are in better shape (as far as snow cover) then the southern trails. Be cautious of icy corners and trail sections. There are several active logging operations in the county. Please refer to the map and look for signs on the trial.
Please reference the County Map for the open and closed trails.
Make sure you check with neighboring counties and states before you ride to make sure trails are open.
Douglas County Forestry does not maintain any trails across lakes. If you would like information of specific trails please contact the Snowmobile club in that area.

It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to utilize their property. Please Stay On The Trails.

Please share this info with anyone that you believe would be interested…our goal is to inform as many trail riders as possible.
Please check with neighboring counties to ensure the trails are open before you ride!
I have attached a trail map which outlines the Open trails.

With the new snow we received, there are high banks at road crossings so be cautious when approaching and crossing the banks.

We should have all road crossings safe again by tomorrow.
