As most of you know I spend a lot of time traveling. Many of you have commented on you never know where I might be or show up but most of the time it’s either with my family or veterans. I never know a lot of the time myself. Tonight I’m sitting in an ICU room with a gentle men in Southeast Mo that I have never met until tonight. I know very little about him with the the exception that he is not expected to live through the night.

In his room it is dark and once in a while I hear the monitor going off that gives his blood pressure and heart readings. The only other sounds is him struggling to breathe. Two other things about him that I will share is that he is homeles a VETERAN. It makes you wonder what kind of life he has had since he got out of the military to have no family to be by his side as he takes his final breath.
Being a veteran makes him my brother. Being a minister most of my life I have preached a many of funerals and have stood beside the bed of many as they took their last breath but never a homeless veteran. I ask you tonight to pray for this soldier that as he leaves this life that it is peaceful and that he finds rest on the other side. No veteran should ever die alone. May God Bless.
