This guy came in a few weeks ago❤️He was found hit on the road 💔Road rash, closed head injury and two broken legs💔He and I have a LOVE ❤️ HATE relationship right now! He either chews his splint off or slings it off once sometimes twice a week😡He takes twice as much sedation medication than any fawn his age and weight 😳 He’s on the road to recovery ❤️‍🩹 but it’s a little bumpy 🤪

Our only set of twins this year❤️They both came in with horrible injuries, injuries that required being treated several times a day and having to be separated 💔They are both doing better , and hopeful they will both recover ❤️In the meantime…a quick love from a sibling always starts the wk off to a good start ❤️

The view around here is always super cute ❤️Thank you goes out to our Village of wonderful donors!!!! I’m so grateful for each of you ❤️We continue to take fawns in, unfortunately most of them have been severely injured and Texas Fawn becomes their final resting place 💔But they are not suffering, laying on the road and enduring our extreme temperatures 💔Heartbreaking 💔

It’s August , we are in a horrific drought , it’s super hot out 🔥And our wildlife suffer the most !! Four fawns today …
1st one DOA💔
2nd one found hit on the road
3rd one caught in fence
4th one found in sewer plant
We need Rain , cooler temperatures and I personally need 12 more hours in a day 😳
We again are at a MAX Capacity, but we don’t turn down ❤️‍🩹
We are in desperate need of Strawberry 🍓 Pedilyte , xlg puppy pads. and baby wipes ❤️ Thank you goes out to the AWESOME humans who took the time to get these fawns to us ❤️‍🩹We can’t save them all , but we guarantee they are comfortable, hydrated and not suffering ❤️‍🩹Texas 🇨🇱Fawn and Friends ❤️‍🩹

❤️Feel Good story❤️This doe fawn came in, as she was found on the road ❤️Her neck was broken , and she had road rash several areas on her body 💔The last video , is her now ❤️When the weather breaks ( heat ) she will get to go out with the other healthy fawns 🤗

Head trauma is a common injury to those fawns involved in car accidents. Head trauma can range from their hide being knocked off their head , damage to the skull, blood shot eyes, blood in and around their nose , eyes and even ears 💔Keeping the fawns in a cool, quiet and dark spot along with medication is protocol for the first few days ❤️The first 36 hours are extremely touch and go ❤️We have taken in several fawns , that were hit , and left on the side of the road 💔 Hopefully these guys will make a full recovery ❤️‍🩹 Thank you all so very much for your continued support ❤️

EHD….Epizootic Hemorrhage Disease …is a fatal , viral disease found in white tail deer 💔Caused by tiny midge flies 💔Late summer, early fall is when it’s most commonly seen💔High fever causes the infected deer to seek out water 💔Symptoms are high fever , severe weakness , swelling in head, throat and tongue , excessive drooling and loss of fear with humans 💔Spread exclusively by the fly bites but is not passed directly to other wildlife or humans 💔There is NO TREATMENT, and death usually happens within 36 hours 💔Some deer build an immunity and survive but not very often💔Fawns are also susceptible to this 💔This particular buck was one that I did not raise , but lives here on my place ❤️Mother Nature can be very cruel some times 💔Drought conditions cause midge flies to breed in shallow , stagnant and muddy water 💔I get a lot of calls late summer early fall with this exact situation 💔There is no treatment 💔But keeping drinking areas clean is definitely helpful ❤️In years past , there have been many outbreaks , where areas lose hundreds of deer durning severe drought conditions💔EHD is incurable but outbreaks typically end with the first hard frost of the year! Killing the fly😊

This doe fawn was brought in with some pretty severe injuries💔She was found on the road , where she had been hit by a car 💔Closed head injury , dislocated ankle , severe tear to her side 💔We were able to get in to Dr. Joe Able , x-rays taken, ankle splinted and tear was sewn up ❤️She will stay medicated, hydrated and kept in our soft crates for a few days with hopes of a full recovery ❤️If you feel the need, any donation would help greatly in her charges with Dr.Joe Able today ❤️We are so thankful for the ladies who got her off the road ❤️❤️❤️Prayers accepted ❤️
