*TRIGGER WARNING*

There is a landlord in our area getting tenants to sign a lease stating they will be evicted if they care for stray cats.

The Ohio Supreme Court unanimously ruled that all cats and dogs, including stray, feral, and community cats, are legally protected as "companion animals" under state animal cruelty laws. This landmark decision establishes that knowingly causing serious physical harm to any cat is a fifth-degree felony, regardless of whether the animal has a registered owner.

This landlord has several cat hating residents that have beaten the stray cats in that development, breaking their legs and poured boiling water on a litter of kittens, killing them all.

Can your landlord evict you if you break the agreement in your lease? They can try, but if what they forced you to agree to is a CRIME... call an attorney. This is why law offices have free consultations.

If you want to care for strays and ferals, the law is on your side.

These are some of the babies from this location. The Purr-fect Project will be trapping and sterilizing the colony there to eliminate future litters.

***incase you were wondering if this type of enclosure works for kittens, it does not. I took this video and then went about my business and suddenly there were kittens running all over my house. I know which one showed the rest how to crawl over!
